    just pondering over the true power of the afro. your thoughts please....


    don't tell me the whole afro thing was a DBZ joke.. I know the power from their hands and umm foot were... but the afro? does it show the true power like a Saiyan shows his power through his hair? awesome isn't it. the power of the afro. all Nabeshins will rule someday.

    I think that the weird hair do's are supposed to resemble some kind of hidden power. And Nabeshin has the ultimate of these powers because of the fro... I still laugh out of nowhere in the middle of crowds(making myself look like a freak) when I remember Nabeshin pulling out weapons from his Afro arsenal.

    he is a combination of spike from cowboy bebop and lupin III. thu is his hair(like spikes') and his clothes(lupin...the original version of the clothes...the blue jaket is the miyazaki version, fyi). pulling the guns out is getting them both cause they always have weapons everywhere...so why not in the hair?*^-^*

    I see him as a self-insert on steroids :) we can forgive him cause he's so freaking funny :) (he does just a tad better than David Gontermann) Hadn't thought of the Spike and Lupin connection, I'd mostly seen DBZ parody myself.

    Nabeshin, the real person, liked the afro look (popular among Yakuza) and was also a Lupin fan. though the afro took time, Nabeshin once showed up to a convention dressed as Lupin (except with jeans instead of black pants) and the look stuck, its he now continues to dress like lupin for conventions and publicity shots, its a look that hes recognised for, so hes dressed like that in Excel too.

    Nothin' to do with cbb, though he and spike LOOK related.

    But still, I know we're going off topic, but if you give him a fro then yeah the real Nabeshin looks a lot like the Nabeshin from the show.

    speaking of the fro, you guys seen the clip of him* introducing Excel Saga? (least I think that's what's going on) He's wearing an afro wig over his real afro. Before he takes the wig off, it's just gigantic.

    * him = nabeshin the real person aka Watanabe Shinichiro. highlight added for the maybe 2 people who don't know where the name came from hehe.

    You know what Wolfwood? he still reminds me of Spike, so there. I don't pretend to know everything :p
