    (Cold but Sunny)

Things seem to be progressing somewhat smoothly over the last week or so. Work that i have been given to do over then course of the christmas holiday has been taken on board with a lot of grumbling (bah, humbug), and other things that have needed to be done are being done... eventually... and to low quality. But hey as long as i have it done then its all good.

I have finally gotten around to organizing an AGM for the colleges Networking society, to which, as some of you should know, i am the Public Relations Officer. It took a some kicking up the arse but i finally found a place that some people i think are going to be pleased about, and its not going to cost us that much, i just have to finalize a few things then and then we can send off an application to the college asking for funds for the event. Once thats done i can start sending out invitations to all the other networking societies in the country.

The bar in question agreed to close off part of the seating area for us free of charge, since the function rooms can hold around 120 people and theres only like to be 30 people coming at the most. They also offered to cook us some finger food (which the president is very insistant on) and there will also be a band playing on the night in question. The president of the society is also wondering if it might be possible to get some drinking concessions, which all sounds good to me, i just have to phone them up and ask if they can do it for us. Hopefully the college will give us the funds as it appears that we have been kinda cheated out of the money that we have been saving for. We spent the last 2 years saving money for this, only to be told that instead of each society having their own funding, its thrown onto a big pile at the start of the year and you have to make a request to get any. Thankfully its not my job to ask for the money, since i wouldn't really have a clue how to go about asking.

With Christmas once again around the cornor, i once again find myself being battered on all sides from my parents asking me what i want for christmas. If you were to actually really know me you'd soon find out that this is almost like pulling teeth. I can never really think of anything that i want, and its usually about a week before christmas day before i can think of what i want. This year i just want everything to be simple, so i asked for the latest Terry Pratchett book and the Marx Brothers collection on DVD. Soon after making this request, my dad came to tell me that since its christmas, i can ask for something a bit more hi-tech, so i was once again sent out to the shops to try and find something. Personally, i think this whole thing can be a real pain in the hole.

My friend finally came to the conclusion on Saturday that taxi drivers are a total waste of space, despite the fact that his dad is one. It took us 2 hours to get gome on Saturday night, my hair was soaking wet from the rain and i was therefore freezing. I think i may have managed to talk him out of one of his little bad habbits as well, which i am very proud of, for his sake anyway. But weather he keeps it up is another thing.

Finally, and at long last i got my hands on Mario Kart DS, for the Nintendo DS. This was probably one of the sole reasons i bought the handheld in the first place, and now i find myself staying up till 12 at night playing the thing once i get home from college. Tis no wonder i'm having trouble getting up in the morning. Happy Days people, Happy Days.
