I am currently on Vacation in the US, and I realized that PS2s and Xboxes are much cheaper here than good ol' Sweden.

And I was gonna buy a xbox with some games...when suddenly, I remembered something.

North America has NTSC regulations on VHS, but do they have it on PS2 and Xbox?

Normally Europe uses PAL regulations, and my Question is, Can i play games that have PAL regulations on a Xbox/PS2 bought in the US ?

As with all consoles, the American is NTSC versus your European PAL.

You'd need to mod the console to work with backup games, and then patch a copy of your PAL to NTSC before it would play. Or else, you'd need a PAL converter.

Beyond even that, you'll need to find a pretty heavy duty power converter to use it once you got back. The price difference just might be worth it.

Here's an in-depth article on PAL vs NTSC.

    Gwarh.

I have just read the link you gave me BMS, and I believe that an adaptor is rather expensive...man, I might just buy a used X-box instead :(

Dont understand why north america must have NTSC and we europeans have PAL...
