Recreation AMV intro???

Just finished my first AMV and was wondering if there are any other AMV makers out there what is the best compression to put it at when exporting to AVI cause at the moment its at 900 megs for a 4 min 30Sec video which is really far too big but i dont want to butcher it into a unviewable collection of colours...
