Well I just downloaded (leagaly I'll have you :) ) episode 1 of the Animatrix. I was impressed.

It is a 6 episode mini series thats comming directly to VHS and DVD.

The first episode was the first part of the back story of the Machine/Human war. Its setting up the conflict.

The style is like Metropolis (the anime one). It coolio to say the least.

I recomened immeadiate downloading at: http://whatisthematrix.warnerbros.com/index_anime.html

    Woah, thanks.

Nine episodes you say? Well thats even better!

I downloaded "Program", the animation was sweet and it had a good feel to it. Also, it got better as the episode went on.

Personally, I *really* want to finish up the 2nd Renaissance part up. The whole epilogue and how the matrix became so...powerful is an interesting story. Mmmmmmmmm..........Matrix.

I'm definitely getting this when it comes out on DVD.

I was surprised how graphic some of the violence was on the first part of The Second Renaissance. I guess that's just because I didn't know what to expect.

So, uh, when's this coming out on DVD?

I wish it was american animation, but no, it is true anime. The director of Cowboy Bepop, and many other famous directors have made these animation shorts. One was made by SquareUSA, with the FF Spirits Within technology.

To be blunt, stop attacking american animation, it relly is silly to do so.

    hmm..

Alucard does have a point there about the animation that came out of america being more directed towards children. But to be honest I think that most of us have grown up on "my little pony" , "Johny Cage" and if your lucky maybe some Dragon Ball reruns.
I also find it hard when people verbly express their "newfound" hatred towards american cartoons. I still remember staturday mornings, but most of my cartoons were interepted by Desert Storm. :(

am looking at the trailor atm...looks damn cool...gonna have to reserve the dvd tomorrow lol
and well, as for american animation, btw dbz isn't american (you have it in your list of american shows fyi), well, the majority is aimed at kdis because it was never really given a chance to be thought of for adults...i think it's great for kids, cause they're looking for entertainment not great content..i mean, i remember GI Joe being cool as hell when i was a kid...i look at it now and think of how much better the animation could have been, how simple the plots and etc. it's one of those things in america you pretty much have to be a kid to enjoy...because adults seem to want reality programming and cop shows...<sigh>

Sorry to rain on everyone's parade, but the Matrix Reloaded looks gay. The original was a classic, even though the ending knida sucked, but every scene I've seen from M:R just makes it look like a hyped piece of trash. I hope the agents whoop some *** and grind that jerk Neo into the ground. Flying... god, next he'll be able to comminicate with aquatic life.

I do hate american cartoons now. becasue most are just remakes or geared to children. Now if you go back like 10 years or so then it kicked ***. I dont know if transformers was japaneese or american, gi joes, ninja turtles , thundercats, x men, spiderman, robotech, smurfs ( ok i know its kids but it still kicked *** :D) and of corse VOLTRON :D and everyones fav the tick :D

now its all remakes and bad re makes ie transformers(my god what they do to it) plus it suposeally will hurt the childrens minds when robots get shot.

Animatrix isn't really american. I mean all of the direstors are from popular anime. And I really liked Detective Story.

*ALL* the directors aren't from anime. The Waichowsky brothers are definitely not japanese, unless they've got some wierd thing going on. However, a multitude of them *are* worked on with people popular to anime. Yes, you're right in that.

In any case, a new update: The final online episode came ou this month..."The Second Renaissance, Part II". Good stuff.

if you go back ten years ago then *we* were children, so we didn't notice how all the cartoons were directed at children :D

just think about that for a second
