Cosplay and Conventions Anime Expo '06

Is anyone going to AX' 06 this summer?

 

i don;t know what it is or where it is, can you tell me(I hope its near florida):sweat:

 

Sadly enough, the only conventions in Orlando are MegaCon (Feb.24-26), and Jacon (Last weekend of March). I think i've heard of Anime 6, but I'm not even sure if it's in florida...

AX.... if you're talking about the convention that I think you're talking about, then I think I'm actually going to this one =) Yay, I usually don't get to post here too often, since AX is the only big con. I know of in my area ^^ Where is the con you're talking about being held, Badluck?

What is this, "Anime Expo" I speak of?

Anime Expo (a.k.a. AX) is the largest
convention celebrating Japanese Culture
in North America. In 2005 there where
33,000 AX goers, making it one of the
largest in the world. It's usually held
4th of July weekend at the Anaheim
Convention Center, in Anaheim. It's
my favorite annual event, since my
first time going in 2004.

 

Yup, it's the one I'm thinking of, then ^^ I went last year, and it was lots of fun, although a little overwhelming at first @_@. I should be going again this year, if I can get somebody to go with me.... these things are always more fun with friends ^^.

 

Oh, I'm sure you'll find someone to go with you.

Ax 06....

I will be attending AX this year. I was in Van Nuys at the end of January for Anime Los Angeles 2. I had a whole lot of fun and I am going back next year (1,200+ attended this year. It doubled in two years!!! Yeah!!!) Hope to see you there!!!

 

Cost of ticket to AX - $45

Number of AX-ers last year - 33,000

Money they made off of ticket sales alone -1.49 million dollars

Number of horrible cosplayers - undefined

Number of smoking hotties wearing Chii costumes - ~


For the first time in several years I'm going to be able to go. I'll be there, I'm pre-ordering the tickets soon. The Anahiem Convention Center is massive, and suits the con nicely. The vendor area alone has more square footage than the fight deck of my ship. XD Last time I was there they had 4 viewing rooms displaying all the "new" up and coming anime (if you dont watch fan subs) as well as two movie rooms. The first time I went we saw Gundam Wing Endless Waltz on a movie theater sized screen in a convention room packed to the brim with fan boys and girls. That was a blast.

Though, on a down side, I hear that Man-Faye has been banned from AX, so his hairy butt won't be gracing our presence.

May'aps we should have some of the BJPers do a little get together thingy.

What she doesn't know, won't hurt her.

Unless an idiot friend blurts it out on you, but in my case it makes no difference to being able to go. I just have to put up with her rather vocal worrying about me.

Anyway, yes, meet up! If I'm not mistaken it won't be just BJP people though since a couple of my friends from other places are apparently going. We'll have to figure something out in any case.

I'm there, man. I've just got no idea of who i'm going to cosplay as. I've never been to an Anime convention.

 

I'll be pretty close to LA around the time. I am going to AX (despite hgh costs for me ) and I'll be staying in Anaheim for about 5 days after that.

As for the rest of you I'll probably be heading to the con with my little brother. I'll be cosplaying as a white guy, so I shouldn't be too hard to find.

I won't be cosplaying, but I'll find some way to stick out for you guys.

When we get closer to the date, I'll have to get Izzy to send me a cell number or something so we can contact each other. ^_^

 

I went on the first and it was really fun! CLAMP was there! if you didnt go, you missed out on meeting with them! >< there was a whole lot of cosplaying.

 

Ya, but the clamp line was way too long, so we sat in the AMV awards line instead. The awards ceremony was badass. :3

I did like, nothing, lol. I was there for maybe 4 or 5 hours, most of which was spent walking through the Dealer's Room and not buying anything.

I had fun mostly cause I was there with KA and got to hold her hand the entire time. :catgirl: I wanted to buy her a set of cat ears but she wouldn't let me.

I did buy a couple things, for what it's worth... couple of Slayers novels, Ai Yori Aoshi manga, and the first book of Chobits... As well as a Kanon artbook that KA pointed out to me. ^^

...I still say the best part of the con was being there with KA.
