Anime North: Saturday

I HAVE GONE INSANE. (I mean more so ) Tell you why, right after this!

So, I left for Anime North at about 9:45 this morning, (I think). (GMT -5) This time, equipped with a backpack, so I wouldn't have to lug around, like, 30 lbs of purchases. I got there, and, when I couldn't find the event I wanted to go to. So what do I do? I go straight to the Dealer's Room!

The line for the ATM was really long. And everyone was doing, like, 6 transactions each because the thing maxed out at $100 a time. So, after half an hour in line, I fattened my wallet for the last time. I bought a couple wallscrolls, and then some guy came along telling us there was some sort of lockdown and we had to leave the dealer's room right away. So I took that moment to go to the Artist's Alley, since I didn't get the chance to see last year. It's a good thing I did, too. I found out most of the artists were willing to do commisions. (This = VERY GOOD) So, I asked one of them to do a picture of Cherry for me. She said she needed a reference picture, though, so I went back to the Dealer's Room, since I'd left the Ultimate Collection I'd bought yesterday at home.

I was looking for a copy of SMJtoX Vol. 2. But the only place that had it was selling it for $53. (Robbers...) Here's where I went insane.

I bought a THIRD copy of the Ultimate Collection. Can we say overboard? Yeah, I thought so. Did I mention that the two I got were the only two copies at the con? Well they were. And now they're mine.

While I was waiting, I checked out their restaurant. This time it was more of a restaurant than last year. However, in preparation of greater volumes of guests, they stocked only MORE overpriced hot dogs and pop. :sad:

So, after 3 hours and 15 minutes, the girl had finished my picture, which I had her expand to include all three girls, instead of just Cherry.

It's absolutely beautiful. It's in full color, and captures the spirit of the three better than most fanart I've seen. And made *just* for me. It even has my name written on it. I had spent about an hour looking around the rest of the Alley, and, after that picture was done, took the Collection to another Artist, and had them do an ink drawing of Cherry. This one took about an hour and a half, spent watching the second Inuyasha movie, on my part. She came out looking more bishoujo than kawaii, but it's still very nice. I'm impressed by both of them. (Note: I don't have a scanner, and will not reproduce these pictures in any way, so please don't ask if you can see them unless you one day come to my house)

After that, I tried to go to one video event called "Anime Hell" but it was so full I couldn't get a spot unless I wanted to stand for 3 hours. (Obviously not) Seeing no other majorly important events, I decided to come home.

Because of those pictures, today was the most satisfying day I'll have (and have had) for a long time. Although I was enjoying yesterday more, I left happier today.

Tomorrow, though, I go only for the ambience. I've got $10 left. (not including bus fare)
