last time we showed tenchi, it was sub,

we usually compare the two and pick which sounds more suited to the characters in our view

when we did bebop, we used Dubs

I'm really gonna try to be at this but It's right after my exams, so i'll have to see

It's not rebeling, it's called trying to be a twat.
The Bebop Eng dub is loved by nearly all, end of story.

there are no good dubs.. it's just that simple

but even as dubs go, the bebop one was not great

wasn't the worst I've head by far but it is NOT good

Meh, I'm not too keen on the Bebop dub.

I'm with Mordiepants, there's no such thing as a good dub.

Well, I would say, perhaps the dub of Kiki's Delivery Service was a good one. Of all the dubs I have heard not one of them has been able to capture the feel of the original(Kiki's Delivery Service excepted) and for the simple reason that these anime shows were conceived and written by japanese people with japanese mentalities in japanese. Western culture(stinky americans) both in terms of language and well just plain having a culture to begin with are so different that the conversion of a story from one to the other perfectly is a practical impossibility.

The though of listening to a dub of KareKano or Excel Saga goddam scares me.

And just because a dub is less crap than most it is no cause to call the dub a good one.

Oh and sketch arsebandits at twelve o'clock.. ruuunn.... or duck if you are so inclined.. ehem

Dubs (American voices) are generally..very very annoying. I would allways prefer to listen to original seiyuu voice acting...but that doesn't necessarly mean watching a sub is better.

Sub titles are also, very very annoying. They detract from the visuals..and are especially aggrivating for people with short sight. (I can't read subtitles if i'm anything more than 10 feet away from the screen)

I'd think to only way to full appreciate anime, would be to have a perfect understanding of the japanese language..but I don't think that'll happen anytime soon.

oh, and the bebop dubs are decent :)

Mononoke had the best dubbing by far tho.
