Pioneer is re-releasing Akira again.This time with enhanced sound.(A DTS audio track.)

Forgive me for being a simple, Rookie anime lover but what was so great about Akira in the first place..? Though I've not seen it,

*to all serious Akira fans* Please don't hurt me!? *cowers in corner*

 

Akira is considered a classic of anime because it was a landmark film. For one, it surpassed everything before it in terms of quality of animation. Its detail and frame rate (24 frames a second) was incredible for its time, and is still considered an incredible animated work by today's standards, since everything was done with hand-drawn cels (save the small bit of CG used to show Akira and Tetsuo's "brain patterns"). Also, the voices were pre-recorded, so it could be drawn to fit the dialogue (whereas the opposite was done with most anime, in which the voices were recorded after everything was drawn).

i thought akira was a pretty good anime, i dont think i would buy it again either, but still id take it as a gift, hehe
