Did I ever mentioned that thoes sigs are bigger than the suggested size? Just do a resize to them, according to the given size, please :)

    Thank you..

First off...I dont pick the pictures or anything...people request them. Second off....whats the suggested size....nobody informed me that there was a " suggested size " of sig on this forum...plus resizing everyone sig and making them update there profile...would take a little while to do....

I've never seen so many restrictions on signatures. Sorry but I like making it my own style...and that style doesn't correspond with your guidlines very well so... I guess for this board anywho, I'm done making sigs. I understand in a way why you would want all these restrictions...but a forum thats main thing is to post your own ORIGINAL art and STYLE...then I'd say thats too much for restrictions.....

Well, the boarder is a bit pixelated, you could have used a better font, and did you have to leave the hypen in his screen name?

    Good job over all though.

That's one thing I've noticed on all of your sigs, the pixxelated border. You might try running it through a blur filter once or twice in photoshop to eliminate that problem, use an inverted selection mask to keep the rest of the image from being affected though.

Also, the maximum size for signature artwork is 300x125. This isn't really unreasonable, if you consider how many users are stuck on dial-up still and do not want to wait 5 minutes per page because everyone has a 100k sig file. If you want to post a bigger image, do so in the art forum rather than sticking it on the end of every single post you make, that way dial-up users can CHOOSE when they want to see the gigantic images, rather than have them forced upon them.

[edit] Also, running an image through resize in photoshop takes all of 10 seconds, if you host all of the images that people use for sigs, just resize and overwrite them, they won't have to do anything at all and the sigs will fit within the 300x125 guideline. At worst, you might have to run blur once or twice to fix some resizing artifacts. There is no size limit on images posted to the Art forum, so I don't see how this is such a restriction, original art and style can still be shown, and if you want to be a versatile artist, you have to be able to work in a small space as well as on a massive canvas, consider making sig files to be an experiment on a smaller canvas.[/edit]

Thanks for the tip, I'll try it out. I've noticed the jaggy's too and have experimented little with the blur tools but I'll put it more into affect next time.

On another note...my sig's shouldn't be anywhere near 100kb. On my host site the most taken up was about 40kb. But I guess it would add up depending how much times you posted on one thread. Plus the 300x100 limits how visible the characters are (using the style I have been) and its hard to figure out who the character is and most of there attributes. I would resize the images but I'm afraid the pictures will be way to small to tell who it really is.

However I will try to find different techniques + different size variations to be able to post on this board.

Oh, the 100k thing was just hyperbole, I would have actually guessed yours to be about 35k on averge based on the size and color usage in general.

btw, I think I know part of why you have the jaggies now. You're using .png format to allow you to preserve transparencies, right? Png format is touchy with the way it handles edges, from what I recall last time I used it, it takes a bit of fiddling with the settings to get it to not do that, and very precise edges between normal space and transparent space.

Yea I use .png so I can open up my work and start where I left off or make the correct changes I need to. After I make the changes or whatever, I just transfer it over to ImageReady and " Save Optimized As" and save it as a .gif file. If you have anymore tips, or just wanna talk about ideas and such just PM me.
