Saber Marionette Another Singular Rose Update

I know there's a thread on this somewhere, but I'm too lazy to find it now.

Basically, The Rose is having.... problems right now. Irritating problems. Before I left on my latest theatre job, I purchased hosting at a very cheep price only to have the company's servers crash literally three days later. As of right now, they are rebuilding their site as fast as possible and I have to email them in regards to setting up my account, or getting a refund.

So, basically all I have now is the domain name. As soon as I get this hosting mess sorted out, Singular Rose will be migrating from geocities to the following address: http://www.shirataki-rose.net . Nothing is there yet, just a place saver from godaddy.com. As soon as the move is complete, though, expect the Hana scans and the fan fics to be fully up... and some nicer layout, too. It's nice to know that the Rose has a valuable place in the Saber J on line community, that I'm not putting up with all this trouble for no reason. Thanks to everyone for your supporting comments/emails/entries in the Rose's guest book. They really touch me and move my heart.

Bad luck about all those Saber Sites vanishing! First HOAM is down for months, then the tiger shrine vanishes. Panther's shrine on geocities, last I checked, hasn't been updated in almost a year, and on and on and on. It's really a shame.

But yeah, I'm gonna email my hosting tonight to see what we can do. And when I get home from the utah Shakespeare Festival in three days, if they've set it up, I'll begin work.Matt, will you be on line or checking email then? I'm gonna need to ask a few questions about linking frames and buttons again, because my layout, as you know, involves both.

Oh yeah, a generous friend of mine screencaped a few episodes for me, too. And now that I have my new lap top, I should be able to start screen capping sometime in August or September.

I decided to stay with this company, because where else am I gonna get $8.00 yearly fees for 110 MB of space? Saaa, anyway, I emailed them the rebuild ticket today at a level 3 priority, so about normal priority since I didn't lose any data when the servers got siezed (heck, the account wasn't even active, just paid for). I have no idea when they'll get to it, but I'm guessing this will take at least a month or two, considering they can only really deal with 3-10 accounts per day and have about 16,000 clients, many of whom actually *lost* things and had active accounts.

basically, this means the Rose is suspended for the moment. I don't have much more room on geocities to keep growing so the screen caps, fan arts, and manga scans of Hanagata I currently have don't really have anywhere to go. I do have an account with O-catch, but I'm hesitant to build the site there if I'm just going to transfer it in a month or two, anyway (and O-catch freaks out if you just post image galleries on their sites so... *shrug*). But to keep you guys interested in the shrine, I *will* post the features that will be coming to Singular Rose sometime this fall:

1) Image Galleries. This is pretty much the reason I purchased space in the first place. The galleries of our dear Hanako are going to be pretty extensive, including caps of him from J, J Again, J to X, the manga and artbook (if I ever get it) and his character sheets from the filmbooks. Due to the dearth of good Hanagata scans on line, I will also allow people to take any images from these galleries to use on their sites, as long as they don't just copy the galleries completely or mostly. Since I'm being generous about this, I also reserve the right to shoot anyone who directly links to me. I think it's only fair. ^_~

2) Fan Fiction: All the stories on ff.net will be posted to the site and hopefully in a more completed manner. Writing, however, takes time, and time is one thing I don't' have a ton of this year due to graduation, thesis work, and stuff I need to do now or never for my career. So, I'll do my best to finish the fics, but I can't promise updates will be as frequent as they were last year. Submissions of any fan fics, but particuarly those focused around Hanagata or Hanagata/Otaru (gasp!) are always welcome.

3) Goodies: Huzzah! I do have a Hanagata winamp skin, made by those generous folks at anime revolution! However, due to some computer problems I had last March, I lost the skin (though it may be on my laptop still, I'd have to check) and AR is currently down due to (all together now) hosting problems. However, eventually, with their permission, I hope to post the skin for everyone's pleasure because it's really beautiful. Hanagata AIM buddy icons made by yours truly(and good ones this time! I have a program now that lets me size pictures!) will also be featured, along with some wall papers made by my friends. If anyone would like to tell me how to make a Hanagata screen saver uh... no, prolly don't have enough space for that ;;.

4) Returning features: expect the fan art, etc. to be there. And maybe a little space for one of my favorite fan artists, Anabella. That depends on space though.

5) Hanagata's very own blog . If anyone has a dead journal or live journal account (Hana has both), you will be more then welcome to ask him questions and leave comments.

Argh.. so long to wait. Oh well, at least it is still alive.

And you found a better Hanako skin than mine? Send it to me sometime. Or I could just wait for Singular Rose to be up in its entirety. Good luck with all that..
