Have any of you been stopped or searched by the police for stupid reasons?

This morning I was walking to my philosophy class when suddenly an officer came out of a police car. Here's how the whole scene went:

Officer: "Get your hands out of your coat pockets!"
    *I comply*
Officer: "Where did you come from?"
Me: From my residence *points to a building behind me*
    Officer: "Why were you there?!?!"
    Me: "I live there."
*Officer goes behind me and opens my booksack to check/rummage through it then lets me go*

Apparently there was some guy wandering around my res with a pellet gun, and she thought I was him and was hiding it under my coat or something. How I could hide something like that in my coat or in my booksack is beyond me @_@ I feel like pressing charges for her breaking section 8 of the canadian charter.

I haven't been stopped by them, but there was an interesting incident once. A year or two ago, when I was still in high school, this kid wanted to beat me up for some reason. It didn't happen on school grounds, but the next day, I took it to the constable of our school. I had someone to back my story up, and it wasn't just another kid, she was a member of the school board! Anyway, I'm not going to go through the whole thing, but they thought I was making up the story, and I was telling the truth!

Has that ever happened to any of you? Did the police think you were lying when you weren't? Or how about this, have any police officers lied to you?

Ok. I was riding on my bike back home from a bakery not to far.
I had just come to the states, and in Canada I follow all the rules there, so I would never know why I would have problems here.
So I had my helmet and I was biking on a small back street and then a cop car pulls up to me.
"What do you think your doing here?"
I stare back at him wondering what the hell he's talking about.
"Come on Lady, hand over the bag."
I give him the bag and he sees that i have my blowtorch, a screwdriver, and some wires and a huge pair of pliers.
"Ok. I'm going to have to confiscate these."
    "Why?"
"These are weapons. We don't want to let someone like you onto the streets."
"But its just or metals class."
    "Yeah thats nice kid."
I got the stuff back in the end by threatening to sue them. Seriously I would have done it.

i was little when something like that happened but i still remember...
    was like 4 years old...
anyway, i was riding in the passanger seat next to my mom and well, she was driving. then i wanted to stick my body (waist to head) out the window without my seat belt and just feel the wind. my mom was like, um... okay! so then she let me. a few minutes later, there was a cop pulling us over and talking to my mom about child safety or something.... he was gonna give us a ticket (for what?!) but then my mom suddenly found out that he was my uncles friend so he let us off the hook.

The closest run in I've ever had with a cop occurred when I was around six or seven, some recognizably impressionable/immature age. We'd taken a vacation to some foreign state, which I can't recall at the moment because it wasn't a very prominent point of my life, but in the parking lot of our hotel my mom had made a slight error by allowing the rear of her car to overstep its boundaries, or whatever you'd call those white lines separating parking spaces. The cop showed up and threatened us with a ticket of about 300 dollars or some other immensely large number, and my mom got involved in a debate with him referring to "punishments fitting the crimes". I was just cranky, bored, and sick of psychotic adults, so I started crying either because I was a spoiled little brat or horribly manipulative (I don't much recall my personality from when I was younger), and eventually the cop took pity and let us go. ^_^

But aside from that, I've never been in a situation where a cop would be compelled to pull me over, though I've jay walked countless times, so it's a wonder none have taken even the slightest bit of notice. Whenever I see a cop, I usually ask to be a junior deputy and I normally recieve a sticker. :p I actually have a decent sized collection of those things lying around somewhere...

The cop noticed me playing with it, and pulled my mom over and said "excuse me but you should not let kids play with sharp objects, its dangerous* I think thats what he said, its been sooo long I probaly messed up on that

I got nabbed once for something I didn't do. Walking back from school to my apartment late at night I see a cop staring at me. I stare back then go around to corner to my door. As I am opening it he asks if I'd come with him. Apparently a tall blonde guy with a baseball cap was in some girls' apartment acting weird or something..

That description happened to fit me (it was so precise!) so I'm loaded into the back of the car. I suggest that we go talk to the girls so they can say it wasn't me. Cop is dubious but decides to do it. I have to get out of the car and stand in the headlights while the girls look through their windowblinds. It wasn't me. Surprise.

The cop tells me I can go.. "you were lucky." This makes me a bit mad. "How am I 'lucky' if it wasn't me?" I ask. No reply, so I just leave.

I felt like saying "lucky you didn't take me in for something I didn't do? Lucky you felt like doing your job correctly tonight?" I mean wtf was he saying? lol
