    It terrifyed me :dizzy:
He should be locked up I think, I mean whats with all the debate about it not being murder becuse the other guy wanted to die? Its illegal to give permission against your own right of life (or something).. so its murder, he's insane. end of story.
probably to pan out the story for the news,
BUT STILL. Its just so CREEPY, eating another person...
    what did you think?

Honestly, the concept of people eating other people doesn't frighten me in the least. Especially if the victim was either already dead or gave permission. Ever read the book Alive? Best example of why I'm not. And I don't mean watching the movie, read the book. It's a completely different experience.

I read that story some time ago ... while eating supper with my friends. They were all thoroughly disgusted. I just shrugged and had another bite of food.
That kind of thing is weird, and, in my eyes, just plain wrong, but it's not as long as no one tries to eat me or anyone I know, I don't see why it's my problem.

if two sane people entered into that contract willingly then I really wouldn't care, but the sanity of someone who enters into such a contract would have to be carefully validated..

The only thing I would be worried about involving cannibalizing at all is if someone kidnapped me and then ate me while I was alive. If someone wants this to happen to themselves, then so be it. But I doubt that I could live with it if I ate someone.

Makes you wonder...would you eat yourself?(stolen from: Hey Norm, if you were a hot dog, and you were starving, would you eat yourself?)

OK, enough random crap outta me.

I for one find cannables very very frightning and they should be put away. If one enjoys feasting on another human then that is enough to say that they are crazy. I mean think about it, would you like to have someone like that in your area.

Hunger is a powerful motivator, one that would most likely cause you to have thoughts about eating another person even. If you went without food for a couple of weeks your body would tell you "hey, feed me!" Actually I have eaten some pretty strange food myself when I haven't eaten for a day, such as.. well don't want to go there I was sick afterwards @_@

Whether or not he should go to prison, I think not.. but he should be able to plea insanity.

Does anyone have a link to this news?

Well, it's horrible, but it seems worse because he filmed it....but lots of horrific things happen around the world on a daily basis....this is like one of those 'true crime' serial-killer type stories that the media loves.

Link That's pretty gross. I lived for three months in the town where the trial's taking place and I've been all over around the area the guy lived.. ugh.

Like others have said, I'm not sure you could prove that the victim was sane. Not too sure about willing either, as he passed out after having something cut off and was then killed.

Even if willing, I'm not too sure about Germany's euthanasia laws. Even if it is legal, I would think only a doctor would be allowed to carry it out.

At any rate, the perp is sick and I hope he gets put away. So very glad I clicked on this thread .. bleh

If they convict this person... it would be rather pointless putting him away. In a prison, full of men not quite with it... would look like a feast to him.

As it stated in yesterday's paper, he was convicted of manslaughter and faces 8 years. The judge chose manslaughter because (paraphrase) "what he did was kill someone without murdering, which is the definition of manslaughter."

Who else thinks it's gross that he got 200 email replies to his request for a victim.

I've decided to look at this as Darwin in action. The victim was a moron, and has been removed from the gene pool. Unfortunately he was 48 or something so he may already have reproduced. Kinda doubt it though.
