Does anybody on these forums ever meet up to watch anime or go out to movies or anything?

Just curious. I used to be on a good comics forum that had alot of meetings for fun, go out to a bar or watch a movie at someone's house, etc. However it got shut down while I was in Hong Kong for a year so now I have no place to meet people with common interests :(

I'm in Vancouver, Canada, by the way.

Guaranteed, if they lived close, I'd do so, in an instant. As it is, the ones I really want to meet are in Florida, Ireland, or the opposite side of Canada. *shrug* And wherever BB and Generic Hero lives. LOL. But, well, that doesn't happen, since funds are a scarcity.

However, given the oppurtunity, I'm sure a lot of here would jump at the chance to just chill with each other for a while. Heck, I know I would, easily. Well, at least the "old fogies" of this forum, anyway...

Hehe, this kinda reminds me of my old forum membership with a Honda/Acura board. See, there it was easier to meet, since I pretty much live near import-capita of the western sea board. That, and, it's cool with them (us) to drive out and meet. *nod* Drive arounds with like....40 slammed, tuned, and fixed-up cars are KU-RaaaaaaaaaaaaY-ZeeeEEe!!!

I know some of the Eir-folk meet every so often, and all. *nod* Damn you guys! Damn you like teh saexy beets of beests ye are.

i live in the middle of the country..actually, technically, the middle of north america.but, meh.
gh5 is on the east coast. ark is in western canada, but he used to live here. a bunch of ppl live in middle/eastern canada. some more of us live on the west coast.
a vast amount of us live in ireland. they who live a cheap train away go and watch stuff every now and again.
a few more live in the middle east.
and more live in central europe-ish areas.
and we have sweds too *^-^*
ppl in south america are around also.

    so, with out a great amount of money spent, there really isn't any way for us to all get together. this is also assuming we're all of the age where we can go on our own. a portion of us is also under 18. the rest of us are poor or lazy..*^-^*;;

BUT! i would one day love to get everyone together for soem sort of con-like event!! it would be teh rule!!

Gah... your all so lucky... anime fans in Houston? Psh, yeah right. If told someone Otaku was a food they'd believe you.
I got bored and did a survey. I showed 150 random people (told ya I was bored) a picture of Kenshin and asked them what gender he was. 142 identified him as female. Kinda sad...

I've also tried the whole university anime society thing, which was a big mistake. There's always a hardcore group of creepy guys who scare off any normal girls and make normal guys too embarassed to join.

Not really that sad. He does look girly, after all... :p

I'm odd, though. I get more enjoyment out of watching movies in a group, but with TV or Anime, I prefer to do it solo. Dunno, I seem to focus more that way...people are very annoying and distracting sometimes.

Unless I've seen it before. Then I enjoy it far more with a full audience. Me and few other nearby members have been together to watch anime a few times. Nothing ever scheduled regularly, though.

Speaking of which...how 'bout it guys? Got a spare weekend sometime to watch a full nonstop season of Slayers or SMJ sometime this coming summer? ^^

    hahahahahahahahahahahahaha...ahaha.....aha...ha.

-__- ' Iiiiii HATE Westville. Yeah, if I had the chance to get together with some ppl on m2a, I'd do er in a sec. But, as was said, many live rather far away. Ireland, other various parts of Europe etc. There's the chance of meeting a few who live in Canada like myself, (wiggles eyebrows at KaMe) but...there be no one round these parts who share my love of anime. Sides Mike. But he's a moody bastid. *mutter* Damn him straight to France.

Forgiveness, felt the need to rant. *waves madly*

Sure, this summer is pretty open for me except for when I corn detassle and derogue...

I think that answers the questions of the topic ^^; But I do prefer watching anime with other people but usually when I do that I've already seen it already so it isn't the same. I should try renting an anime and watch it with people the first time through. Remember watching Outlaw Star dubbed BMS? lol

Let's see....I get together, well, regularly with Kogarashi (we're roommates; it's really not that hard), and I've watched stuff with UrashimaKeitaro a few times. He's actually the person who introduced me to Fruits Basket. I guess it kinda helps that all three of my roommates like anime, and a bunch of other people in the area like it too. Makes for an easy time getting a group together to watch stuff. Well, sometimes. Other times it can be difficult.

I might not with memebers from this forum... but, every Friday night, me and about 10 people and growing, either, go out to the movies to watch a new one... or come to someones house (usually mine... its a good party house), and watch a movie... usually its anime... but, other times, we watch non-anime
