It is a boxing manga/anime, and it was very popular in Japan. (I think, how else would it reach 70 volumes?!)

Anyway, I love this series. It ranks alongside RK as my favorite anime series ever. The fights are so awesome and very breathtaking. Anyone here knows of any fansite to this anime?

Hajime No Ippo is a nice anime, the drawings looked like Captin Tsubasa and I just saw only 1 episode though. Couldn't find more, but it looked nice alright ^^

Never seen the anime, but I did read quite a bit of the manga.

Reminds me of almost exactly like Slam Dunk. But, boxing, y'know? And there's the fact that there's those tidbits about actual fighting. Hehehe.

As far as it ranks, I rank it up with Break Shot...a manga about pool.

It is kinda like Slam Dunk. But it's boxing. I guess I just love sports anime. I love Captain Tsubasa. A little.

It's sad that people don't really know of this anime. I really feel that they're missing a lot. I haven't found a single site about it. (Not even one. Imagine that? Even "Cooking Master Boy" has a site :sweat2: ) If I get really desperate, I'll probably try to make one myself.

I've watched Hajime, I rather enjoyed the show. I got a former roomie hooked on the thing. 76 episodes 2 movies of anime rocky. Mmmmm.
Oh, The director of the series will be at AX this year, according to the official AX2004 website. As well as this little juicy tidbit. Geneon has Hajime no Ippo (Fighting Spirit as the English title) licenced with a trailer on the Technolyze dvd. Just ask YK for more details about the trailer.

I watched probably about 70 episodes (some lapses here and there) and 1 of the movies. I haven't watched "Kimura vs. Mashiba" yet. Which is very frustrating for me. :anger2:
