I've been using Eircom's crappy penny a minute service for long enough.

Is there any good ISP operating in Cork that does a subscription service (u know, £20 a month and no call charges kinda thing)?

Well I'm on Ireland online's No Limits service but I don't know if they still offer that, people actually got booted from the service for using it too much. It's about 20 a month and no call charges.

Just tried IOL's site and it seems like they don't offer that service anymore.

The seach continues until I no longer have to pay these £100+ phone bills.

This probably won't help, but Eircom will be rolling out ADSL in a few months and the the great thing is that Eircom heeds to test the lines and see what people think so they are doing a testing phase on about 700 busness and homes (I think) so you should ask around. Also I been using ADSL for the past two mounth put the line crashes about ever three hours thow it's a hell of a lot faster than isp and isdn.

Friggin' IOL kicked me off because I used it too much. I'm on Eircom at the moment, and I really wish Ireland had another flat-rate service.
    ASDL sounds good.

    Allo
I used to use smearcom's 1p a minute thingum till about 8 months ago when i switched to Esat's no-limits service. This was a relief - since i no longer had huge bills. It was also a bit of a downer cause it stunted my hobby of complaining to eircom on a daily basis!
Because i was using E-prat's NO-LIMITS service "TOO-MUCH" (!!!) i was kicked off and now i'm back with Eircom.
These days i spend my time complaining about Irish internet, along with a fairly large group of other uptight know-it-alls.
Well, my point is that there really isn't a good quality service for irish internet users at the moment, and if your like me and want to scream at monopolising tarts, subscribe for free at www.irelandoffline.com and start griping!

Knowing Eircom they'll mess up the launch of the ADSL service and it'll only be available to people in Dublin and other major built up areas, in other words Macroom won't be getting ADSL anytime soon.

I got onto smearcom about the price of domestic ADSL.
    £119 connection fee
    £93 monthly charge
£137 for the modem, which is probably sub-standard
and theres a 3GB cap MONTHLY which defeats the purpose of having a high speed connection.

My dad called eirecom a few times about ADSL and for some reson they noticed so they asked him if the could test it out in my house but my house is to far away from the switch (or what ever the call it) in Dundrum. But my dads factory in Churchtown was near engh to be conected so eircom sent an engineer down gave my dad all the software, small black thing that connects the phone line into the computers modem and that was it and it was all FREE! But now eircom probably have all the people they need for now surfing on ADSL so I you might just have to what for, I dunno mybe a few mounths or so.
