    I just wanna get to the point:

    MY SCANNER WORKS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ^_^ All we had to do was install a new parallel port… Now compy-chan effectively processes the information from wherever inside it it is, and POOF! I can scan things. ^^ I wonder, can I scan while online, as in, will everything NOT slow down if I do so? ^^;;

    It seems your battle with the scanner is done. I appauld your victory cause I know how annoying that can be, of course my battle was with my video card.

    I applaud. Scanners are complete bastards, I should know.

    Hmm, maybe that's got something to do with why it doesn't work...

    congratulations on getting your scanner to work Stardust, I have a few problems that I need to figure out on my computer... like how to get rid of this annoying Worm.Benjamin virus that is haunting me and has caused me to have to delete like 5 gigs of stuff on the computer already :dizzy2: :dizzy2: I need a scanner... but I'm afraid to get one because I'll spend like a week trying to get it to work I bet.

    congrats StarDust! I know how it feels too to have things not work on you! 2 weeks later, and I have a whole new looking computer and I am finally typing from my own computer again! I got a sound card, and the bloody thing wouldn't work. I had to spend 10 hours of time, after taking the card out and restarting and putting it back in and restarting and configuring windows to even realize after 9 hours that it never had 2 speakers but 4! and then make it so in a new sound card program I got.. sigh. surround sound I have!!! and my computer hasn't shut down yet :D

    the bf's scanner died a long drawn out death, so now that we have a digital camera, we have to use that for the time being.
    but congrates on coming out victorious in you war against the scanner.*^-^* did you get the warm fuzzy feeling? you should have.

    Yes, the warm fuzzy feeling... I know it well. We've become great friends, you see. I got that, as well as congratulations from my lovely muses, Musie (female custom muse) and Marhl (male Abh knight muse). I scanned a few things, but that should go in the Art section...
