    Teddz reporting live from China!

So as you all know, 2004 is the year of the Asian Cup in China. After Euro 2004, Greece showed the world that a hardworking team can go all the way!

Anyways, the Asian Cup is running now...and who do you think the winner might be?

I'm supporting China (obviously), but I have a feeling that Japan or South Korea might get the better of us and might go on winning it :\

    Nevertheless... come on China!

China didn't play good in their first game.

    1-2 against the U.A.E.

It doesn't look good for the Chinese Squad, even though they do have quality players.

Today was the first match of the finals as far as I know, and my country made a very interesting performance against China!! I mean, I thought that the result will be 1 - 0 for China or at most a tie of 1 - 1, but wow.. 2 - 2.

I don't know how to say the following, but Bahrain did these two goals by good effort, while China's first was by "penalty" (?), and their second was done due to Bahrain's lack or defense, kind of a good effort by the Chinese and their intelegence :)

I am not saying that Bahrain is better than China, since they are not! :p But the fact that they got a tie in the first match and in China's country and their people are all cheering for the Chinese people is kind of out of the usual for a foregin country to win or have a tie, I was surprised myself since I know how "bad" my country plays.

But then again, it's the first match, I wonder what the future hides ;)

    Yeah, am so happy :')...

Japan beat Bahrain 4-3 in a thrilling match to go through... So it wasn't all easy for the Japanese, Bahrain gave them some trouble.

So here's the final score in the finals of Asian Cup 2004...

    Japan 3 - China - 1

Takashi Fukunishi scored the first for Japan when he headed in Nakamura's free kick. China equalised a few minutes later with a great run from Yan Song, he passed 2 defenders before laying the ball square for Li Ming to slot home from the edge of the penalty area. I'm sure most people supporting China will be annoyed with Japan's second goal. Instead of Maradona, it was Koji Nakata's hand of God. It was obvious, but the referee saw nothing of it. That was really the deathblow and Japan confirmed their win with a 3rd goal on the 90+1 minute when Keiji Tamada slotted home an easy one on a counter-attack.

China did well and to be in the finals for the first time is already a great achievement... but they were playing against Japan, already known to be Asia's best football team with them winning last time's Asian Cup. Anyway, next time China, next time...
