To kick-start this discussion, you are required to read some works by Plato. To find the sections on Atlantis, do a search by going to “Edit -> Find (On This Page)” and type in “Atlantis” (or however you can do a search using your current browser):

Where do you think Atlantis was located? And how do you think it fell?

I think that Atlantis was the result of a massive amount of rock being built up due to a fault line in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. As well, changes in the Earth’s tectonic plates may have moved apart causing Atlantis to sink, and most likely the remains could have been sucked straight into the upper mantle of the earth. Which could explain why nothing, except myths, remain.

It could also be possible that Plato created this story to illustrate how an ideal/just society should be..

Well, I tend to believe Atlantis in the east-Atlantic, and that the Atlantians destoyed themselves while trying to shoot through the Earth with their crystal laser at the peace loving Lemurians in an attempt to take them over.

But there are many other, more logical theories that would make sense too.
