Thanks for the info BakaMatt, it'd be bad if people here became sick from this :(:(

I found out also from http://www.elslaw.com/ppa_research_case_10-83.htm that some problems caused by this drug are hypertensive effects, arrhythmias (premature ventricular and atrial contractions together with paroxysmal ventricular or atrial tachycardia), psychotic reactions, and neurologic effects (grand mal seizures and intracerebral hemorrhage). A case of paroxysmal atrial tachycardia in a woman, after the ingestion of diet pills containing phenylpropanolamine and caffeine is reported.

it's a real pity that serious research isn't done on most drugs before they are released, the companies are really only gambling on the safety of their drugs.

if they are safe, we win.. if not, we can simply claim inneficient funding/technology.

    o_O

Thanks for the tip, Matt. I've never used any of the listed drugs (save for Triaminic when I was a kid -_-;).

This is why I never take pain medications. Lord knows what they put in that stuff.

True enough. It is unfortunately a tight line to walk. In the case of diet pills and the like, they really should wait until they are absolutely sure they are safe. On the other side, medicines that may prove effective at battling deadly deiseases always seem to come out too slowly..

Thank goodness the only drug I've taken in the last 2 years is Ny-Quil... (doesn't take pain-killers, cold medicines.. or rather anything medicinal very often...)
