Eirtaku Aya Returns 2002 - Roll up, roll up...

I don't know if anyone off the forum made it to Minamicon last weekend - if so, hope you had a good time! If not, shame... It was a great convention

Next big con on the UK/Ireland anime convention trail is Aya Returns, which is being held in Northhampton Moat House on November 1-3 2002. We traditionally get a few folk from Ireland at UK conventions - I used to be one of those few, until I moved here and got involved in running the buggers! - but it'd be great to see more.

Cheap registrations are still running for a few more months (although the very cheapest rate ran out at Minamicon) and I'm sure if you book your flights this early, it'll work out dirt-cheap. You get special rates on your hotel rooms at the Moat House too, and the convention rates they've arranged for us are downright superb, much cheaper than any other convention in the UK has had.

For any convention newbies thinking of coming along, please do - Minami this year was about 50% new people, and they all seemed to have a great time. I'm on the committee for this years event and myself and the rest of the committee are always delighted to help out new attendees - don't worry, it's not a cliquey kind of event at all. Four video rooms running brand new, unreleased in the US/UK anime, a dealers room full of merchandise that'll empty your wallet in no time, a games room, an art room, strange people in costume and god knows what else...
