Just yesterday, a new collection was released, I'm talking about the bestest, the cutest, and the greatest, AzuManga Daioh! Complete Class Album.

They shortened the DVD lengths into 5 simple DVD's, all brought in a simple pack, and remade slim DVD cases. All of course for the low price of $39.99. I found this on the "Best Buy" website, and for those that may buy it online, it shouldn't take more than a week to arrive.

But anyways, who else is happy that they made this? I never really got to watch all the episodes, and it seemed expensive to buy them seperatly, and time consuming to download htem, so this is much better!! I bought it yesterday night, so i've only watched up to Vol.1 (Episodes 1-5), hope to watch more of the cuteness of these high school girls, and the weird funny-faced perverted teacher!!

I'm happy that importers are finally getting their act together about lowering the price of anime. Most aren't able to afford a large price tag on DVDs, because a lot of those who watch it aren't exactly rolling in money.

But, you *don't* get the pins. Which the original set does have. =P

A few questions though, ADV is notorious for making really shoddy boxes...so how sturdy are they? I remember my *original* RahXephon (another great release by ADV) box and it couldn't stand under the weight of a few DVDs put legthwise on it. =P The new one, gladly, came MUCH sturdier.

I haven't actually bought any anime in quite a long time, since I quit Best Buy. =P

Sweet! I loved this series...it was funny and cute. I'll definately be shelling out the few crisp bills for the full DVD set at the new price tag, extras or not. ^^

If you mean the actual, plastic cases, and they're the same style cases used in the Family Guy and Friday the 13th box sets, then they're decent. I wouldn't say they'd protect them from, say, being stepped on, but what are you doing with dvds on the floor anyway?!

If you mean the cardboard slipcases the dvds slip into to keep them all together, I have no idea. The Family Guy cases weren't too good, whereas the Friday the 13th box, made of a much sturdier, thicker material, was all I could want from a slipcase.

Edit: ADVs website only provided a mockup case ( http://www.advfilms.com/catalog/originalimages/DAZBX2_C.jpg ) but either way you'll probably want to be careful since, as ADV tends to do, it'll probably be of the cheaper variety.

Yeah, I had meant the slipcases. Box. =P ADV's on-again-off-again-hit-or-miss with the boxes is kinda...stupid.

The Getbackers box is one of the best I've seen, as far as what it's made of. The RahXephon one feels like tissue paper.

My Azumanga one (the first release box) is sturdy, but the pins DID mess up both the box (the pin was jamming into the graphcs inside the box) and some of the DVD cases. Nothing big, but...y'know...*I* know they're there.

No, the big box is nice, but a bit weak. The slightest hit can bend it a bit. As far as the slip cases, they're excellent, couldn't have asked for anything better.

I just finished the last episode. *cries* There could'a been so much more. I want more!

I just got the OST for it. In the folders, there was a folder called "Movie OST", is there really an AzuManga Daioh Movie? Me wants more!

Oh, and on a side note, the English DUB sucks. There's only like 1 or 2 good voice actors there. Thank you MegaCon for showing it on Japanesee first!!

Actually, I thought the dub was rather accurate. The only person I didn't like was Chiyo.

Anyway, there was a short 5 minute movie. Just an introduction of the characters, really. It was called the Really Really Short Azumanga Daioh movie.

It makes no sense why the individual dvd volumes are still overly priced. amazon.ca has the class album for 69.99 cdn while the individual volumes themselves are at 39!

Pretty much so ADV can make maximum profit from those who, say, only need one or two dvds to finish their collections.
