Azumanga Daioh Azumanga Daioh! funny and cute!

hey! has anyone seen Azumanga Daioh?
It is this cute anime about these schoolgirls and their lives. Not too full of action, but is way cute and funny! Just wondering if anyone has seen it, and who their favourite character are.
I llike sakaki the best, but i've been told i'm like tomo.

 

Iv'e read lots of the manga!
Sakaki-san and Tomo-chan are my fave's (couldn't decide between them :sweat: )
I have an Mp3 of 'Soramimi Cake', the opening song, I really like it, but most of my friends dont :sweat:

 

I've only seen the first two eps, but they were pretty funny. That (american) football shaped thing with the wavy arms that shows at the end is pretty trippy though..

Don't know any of the names though

 

My Favorites would be the teachers, escpecially Mr Kimura. Chiyo,Sakaki and Osaka are the most entertaining of the school girls but its all good. Ive been trying to track down any form of Daioh merchendise while in Melbourne, but with no luck.

 

Is Azumanga Daioh on DVD or something? Ya' see, I live in Scotland and I only saw the manga over the internet :sweat:

 

Only the Japanese Region 2 DVD's are out - no english subtitles or anything. They're being put on in three two-disc sets, and seem to be the limited-edition-only variety; the prices are in the 13000-15000 yen range. It's a hard sell to a westerner unless you're a very avid kind of collector (which I might be).

Edit: but now it's gone! I guess the limited release was very limited. It's gone to 'out of print' just about everywhere that I can tell. Argh!

I find that one of the best things about azumanga daioh, is that all the characters are easily relatible to people you know. When i watch it, it's like 'oh, so and so is just like that' it good, because you get involved with the characters. i haven't seen the whole series yet, and i can't wait for it to come out on dvd. You can download versions of it on fansub sites on the internet if you have streamloader, and if your computer can play them.

 

AzuManga Daioh? It's preety funny, I think it's an anime most people would like to watch at least once. I like all the characters, they're very well adapted to each other, but i like Osaka the best (Osaka is just her nickname, i forgot what her real name was), she preety and cute, hopefully i'll get the DVD's sometime soon.

Though a bit later than its release, I have recently seen Azumanga Daioh. My reaction was non-stop laughing at poor "Oosaka". What she has to go through (and goes through her mind) are just plain funny!

Yeah well AzuDi is a hilarious anime filled with witty remarks and unbelivable characters!!!Two thumbs up!!!

 

Indeed, i think that this anime is one of the funniest i've seen so far. I got until the half of DVD 2 right now, and it's going very well. The jokes they use are very unique and original. Hope to see more anime like this ones!

I hate to be the partay pooper here. But I find Azumanga, somewhat of an annoying anime. It has some of its moments, where I thought it was funny, but for the most part, I thought its jokes were just plain lame and well. . .annoying. =/

I saw the first DVD and this anime is hilarious! Especially the guy that spies on all the schoolgirls and his mouth is always open. Cant recall the name. My fave characters are between the pervert guy and Sakaki.
