What a silly title, but meh.

In your opinions, if a man is or is going bald should they seek ways to stop this such as "hair club for men", or should they accept who they are and let what is bound to happen, happen?

    HEY!!!! :dizzy2:

lol.. I have a feeling this will be sent to misc now, but the point I wanted to bring up is that a person should not be discriminated against for the way they look. Since all of my uncles on my mom's side went bald around my age I know that it's bound to happen to me. At first I was scared along with anyone else this would happen to, and you know why? There's too much stuff in the media saying "you don't have to go bald, you can take *insert mystery product here*" And in movies there's always the guy who's wearing a toupee and it falls off and everyone laughs at him like "hahahaha, you're bald I hate you and hope you die!!!!" (a bit overdramatic on my part..)

Seriously, the "pop culture" and accepted guy is one with thick black hair.. and I don't want to follow pop culture because we're supposed to be in a diverse country where skin race, religion, size and amount of hair should not make anyone less than anyone else.

    Personally...

I wouldn't care about how anybody else feels.

I mean, ultimately, does their opinion matter? Some person on the street you'll probably never see again is essentially irrelevant.

And if someone needs to say HA HA YOU ARE BALD OMG THAT IS TEH FUNNEH! then they have low self esteem and shouldn't be listened to anyway.

Also, thats when you say "I may be bald, but you're stupid... and ugly.:p"

Well, due to the crappy genetics hand I have been dealt, I'm going to lose the stuff up top sooner or later. Hopefully later. Anyway, I really don't see the big deal with baldness. I mean, hair is just dead skin cells that have formed a certain way on top of your head. All those products that give you some semblance of what you started with are just for shallow aging hipsters going through mid-life crises. Sure, use your hair-in-a-can and drive around in an overpriced semi-sporty-looking car with a woman young enough to be your daughter, but really, what's the point? Are we all so superficial that all we care about is hair?

Sometimes bald is nice, like on Imhotep from The Mummy, XD. Otherwise, I think if they aren't comfortable being bald, it's fine getting those hair treatments. I'm against plastic surgery and stuff, but this is only hair were talking about, so my opinion is yes.

I care how I look. I probably shouldn't, but there it is. I use Rogaine, as I would like to delay being bald. Once it happens though, there will be no comb-overs or toupees.

As wrong as it is to judge people based on their looks, sad fact is that it happens. Therefore I'd like to keep my hair at least until I"m married heh.

My dad is bald and he doesn't really seem to care. He doesn't wear toupees or anything.l Because of his good attitude towards it I don't really think it is bad at all to be bald.

Also I heard that you get your hair from your grandparents  but i'm not worrying because of my grandfather had a really nice crop of hair.:D

I think baldness makes a number of men look distinguished. They also look cool when donning the black sunglasses on those bright summer days.

The bald guys that look terrible are those that go to great lengths to try to hide it. The combover, the toupee, the hat. Hair loss is not some unsightly disease, but some superficial bald people treat it like so.

The thing is, the relatives on my dad's family all (the men) tend to get bald at a relatively young age, and on my mum's side the first signs of grey hair appears around the teenage years... Me at 16 (17 in two weeks) have recently started seeing signs of oldness by the emerging grey hair from out of the deep and it ain't looking good! To me getting grey hair and eventually loosing it all at a young age isn't something to embrace onself about, I take it as a serious matter! But at the bottom line... what can be done? Nothing! It's all in the genes so you'll have to live with it like it or not.

well if women have the right to color or thicken or weave their hair why shouldn't men be able to use Rogaine to stay handsome.

if its because you think women find bald men unattractive then those women are shallow.. to say. lol. they don't deserve u. sad fact is it may be ingrained into women to look for men with thick nice hair to run their fingers through. shrug. my Psych prof in Uni was the coolest thing. he was bald but grew his hair out to his shoulders and always wore shades. of course he took them off to teach. and he always wore shorts. even in winter.. he was hot man! lol. but Dark_Dreams u just said men would stay hamdsome using Rogaine. Men are still handsome bald. :dizzy2:

but to answer TG's question. We all should accept some facts about ourselves, but we all need confidence boosters. It is a social perception that hair is handsome and beautiful more than bald is. If a man needs to have hair to feel great then I say go for it. If a man is comfortable being bald and beautiful congrats to him as well.

Bald is scary! I don't care what others say like,"bald guys are ugly." Other people's opinion don't matter to me, but I just don't like baldness, I mean, I grew my hair for like 2 years straight, it looked so cool, and now I cutted it like Onizuka from GTO, it's still cool, but what will I do when my hair is gone? That why I don't want to be bald, and bald is scary because birds can crap on your scalp.

*When* I start balding, I will probably just shave my head. That way, it won't look like I'm trying to cover it up, and I'll still look cool. :D So, yeah, I'd just shave it all off.

And that's a lot. My hair right now is about half-a-foot tall. And completely covering my head. But, my dad is already almost totally bald, and started when he was about thirty. I got a lot to look forward to.

Ah, so you're going the "Rock Star Route", Baphijmm. Everyone from Michael Stipe from REM to Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins has done that to avoid having to tell the world that they're balding. :)

    Odd topic. o_0

Well, it would depend, and 23 year old bald guy (or even worse, girl), vs. an 82 year old blad guy.

Either way it would depend. Girls dye thier hair and all, but trust me, all of you guys are VERY VERY lucky: no shaving legs, no eyebrows, no makeup. Your in the shade when it comes to hair! If I were a guy, I'd probably screw it and go bald. ^^ Unless I'm still young, and I'm not a biker/CIA agent. ^_~
