    Anyone here play this game?

Its one of the only PC games I play.I havent beat it yet,but Im almost through it.It is a very fun RPG.Has a great story.Has near endless replayability. It is also a very in depth RPG.(the instruction booklet is larger than the average novel)

    Thoughts?/Opinions?

Yeah, I've got Baldurs Gate 2, beat it a good while ago. I haven't played it in a good while because I got no time, and my PC wouldn't let me anyway. It's damn fine.
But I don't know what kind of novels you read if BG2's manual is bifgger than them. Civ 2, now there's a manual with substance.

I would play it more, but mostly, the only games I have time for are the ones where I can sit down, and crank out an hour of gameplay and be done with it. BG2 just requires SO much time investment per session. If I don't play it for more than 2 hours, it doesn't seem worth it. "Must... complete... quest... before... 5am..." It's a great game though... what I have played.

Still working on the first, honsetly. I abandoned it awhile ago, because it ran like slop on my low-end machine, and intended to go back to it on my new one...

    But NWN took over.....

I'm not touching NWN for a while... I already have tonnes of distractions to begin with...

Plus its 3rd ed D&D, which bumps it waaaaaaaay down on the priority gaming list.

Ah Baldurs Gate 2 was real good. Only reason I stopped was because my games got erased somehow and I had to start all over. I spent 1 hour on one boss. Repeating and repeating, so I said "Ah forget it, I don't want to go through all that crap again."

Thats the only thing I disliked about BGII.If it happened alot though....I would just use invincibility and go back to normal after the boss fight. Some of the bosses(like the dragons)are near impossible....

the Dragons Are easy to beat

all you need to do is have you mage hit the dragon a bunch of times with lower magic resistance.. the hit it like hell with magic missel.. and while he does that have a bunch of monster to take the brunt of the attack.. after that its a piece of cake.. i never once had to much trouble.. the hardest part was in throne of bhaal at the end where i had to put it on easy..

You can beat Dragons like that in BG 2?

(hasnt been at that part yet)

That's kinda sad... sounds sorta like bad AI on the part of the dragon... :(

On a real tabletop game, that trick would be a difficult one to pull off, especially if there was flying room.

I havent fought the dragons in a while. When I did fight them for the first time I tottally got destroyed.(Im talking about the Red Dragon that gives you the best Paladin Weapon)I never fought him since.I didnt try many different strategies because I thought it was impossible to beat him in any way.

Yeah its actualy prety easy once you know how. I had a bunch of different dragon armors and stuff made from the scales..

and actualy the red dragon just gives you a dragon shield and a dragon slayers sword.. i never fownd it to be all that great.. though i did have the best 2 handed paladin sword.. and in throne of bhaal i had it turned into a +6 weapon.. the only one in the game..
