Manga Battle Angel

Battle Angel: Last Order was recently spotted during a trip to Chapters. I know this is a really cool series, and was tempted to buy it, but I haven't read the rest of the manga. Anyone know anything about it?

Yes, also known as Battle Angel Alita or Gunnm. I saw the two-episode-long anime a while back. I read somewhere that in the English translation of the manga, the main character's name is Alita, and at one point in the original ending, there is a reference to a false memory in which she is called Gally, and that in the Japanese version, these names are reversed.

 

the battle angel alita manga is brilliant imo

the anime only covers the first volume (maybe the first two) of the manga, so it doesn't tell the whole story at all. the manga goes much more in depth and explores the world and the characters much more.

if you get the chance, check it out.. but be sure to read the volumes in order.. i think there's 9 of them, and they are well worth getting

I just watched the 2 part anime yesterday and thought it was very good even though a lot of people said there was so much missing from it - it still made sense to me but i'm gonna try and get my hands on the manga asap!

 

Btw Novus was that chapters in Dublin ?

So you're saying the manga's BETTER? Oi, I've gotta get my hands on that ... time to hit those comic shops I found ...

 

^ Yep, the movie only tells a small peice, doesnt tell you what Tiphares is, where Alita came from, why she knows the Panzer kunst... or even give a mention about Desty Nova & the secret of tiphares.

 

Can u like please give out a summary i don't like to buy anything untill i bow what it's about! And i can't get on the somputer for onther two weeks so please give out a summary!

 

It's cool cyborg stuff. A lot of personal conflict and inner drama, coupled with a lot of action scenes and some crisp dialogue.
If anyone's going to summarize, please use the whole spoiler notation deal; I'd like it to still seem fresh when I read it.
