I'd pick Optimus Prime, but if he died I would've given the matrix to Hot-Rod, not Ultra Magnus. I understand that Magnus is his brother in all, but who destroyed Unicron and Galvatron? None other than Hot Rod (Rodimus Maximus)

 

Izzy: wasn't Superion the combined Aeriobots robot. The one's Optimus made at the center of Cybertron from old wreckages of shuttles?

Death: I agree with you on Hot Rod getting the Matrix===but he didn't destroy Galvatron, just kicked his metal hide clear out of Cybertron's orbit via Unicron's eye.
And as cool as he is, it was the Matrix that destroyed Unicron===any of the bearers of the Matrix of Leadership would have been able at that time to unleash its power.
I would have liked to see Hot Rod stay as himself and not morph into Rodimus.

 

I liked Hot rod as leader but he always looked down on himself. He really doesn't like being a leader at all.

This is out of the question but who made the protectabots?

I know a lot of people dislike him, but I think he is and always was the best leader of the Autobots.

 

Yes, Grimlock made the technobots by using the resources at Unicron's head, he later made Technobots, or shall I say Computron really smart by transferring all the brain circuits in him to Computron. (Grimlock was smart for a short while)

I know this is an old thread, but I'm new to the site and wanted to put my 2 cents in. Of course Optimus Prime is the best leader. He is the leader that all other leaders are measured against. The question should be who is the second best leader?

-I can't give it to Ultra Magnus because of his cowardly use of the Matrix - in the movie the first chance he got to unleash the power of the Matrix he did. Being stuck on Junkion is far from the Autobots "Darkest Hour"

-I can't give it to Rodimus Prime because although he's a great fighter, he is far from a great leader. He had no clue what he was doing in the episodes after the movie. He couldn't make a decision to save his life and he didn't know how to earn the respect of the Autobots.

-I guess by default I would have to give it to Grimlock. If he indeed was the leader for a brief period. I remember him being super smart, but I don't remember him being the leader of all the Autobots. I'd have to see that episode again.

 

I believe Rachet built the Protectabots during the second or third season---I could be wrong on the time, but not on Ratchet

 

OPTIMUS PRIMAL IS BETTER THAN OPTIMUS PRIME . SORRY I LIKE TO OPEN WITH A JOKE . BUT WHO CARES ABOUT AUTOBOT LEADERS . OLD GRIMLOCK WAS THE BEST ANYWAY . THIS THREAD NEEDED ME TO SAY ''THOUGH A COOL CHARACTER ,WHY WAS A CRAPPY LITTLE SPY CASETTE , RATBAT PUT IN CHARGE OF THE DECEPTICONS ! BLUDGEON WAS ONE OF THE BEST DECETICON LEADERS BUT SHOCKWAVE BEATS ALL !

 

My vote goes to Optimus Prime ...the original, not RID's version. Optimus Primal was an ok leader...Rodimus needed more confidence in himself though. As for Grimlock umm...ok.

AHH VM1070....it was Grimlock who created the Protectobots in the episode called "Grimlocks New Brain" or something to that affect. Sides, if you see the movie, you will realize that Rachet was killed off by the decepticons attack on earth.

Rachet created the Dinobots and Prime created the Aerialbots from the wrecked shuttles he found on Cybertron <Key to Vector Sigma>.

Optimus Prime was the Autobot Messiah man. Magnus was clearly not up for the job. Obvious when you see him being blown apart. Rodimus Prime was clearly keen to give back the Matrix to the Ressurected Optimus without even thinking about the fact that Optimus was walking around acting foolishly. Would you give away the most powerful object in the universe to some stumbling carcass? Not if you were a good leader you wouldn't.

Optimus Prime is the daddy.
