    For me, it has to be Star Wars... especially the soundtrack of Return of the Jedi. I love the music in the scene where they discover that the Death Star 2 still had it's shields up and it was a trap!! Oh, the music "Here They Come" is great too ^_^x John Williams is brilliant.

    Yeah I think John Williams out did himself on starwars.
    I'm sure there are many other great orchestral soundtracks now but know of them have had the same effect as starwars.
    But the Lord of the Rings sound track is awsome to and it really sticks in your head like the starwars one.

    So 20 years from now people could be humming the Lord of the Rings tune.

    I don't know how wide you want this topic to go . . .as there are so many various orchestrated Final Fantasy soundtracks, not to mention it could get involved with all anime and movies. I think I'm just going to limit myself to non-anime-movies.

    Gladiator is probably my favorite orchestrated soundtrack. Star Wars is classic.

    ChiquitaBanana - I've seen About a Boy and really liked it, but all I remember of the music is Hugh Grant playing the guitar to "Killing Me Softly." What is the rest of the soundtrack like?

    Ooh... Avalon is good! Kenji Kawai really outdid himself on that one, especially the two versions of 'Voyage to Avalon'. I'm not sure if I'd rate it my favorite, but I can't think of what I would right at the moment.

    I am going to say Princess Mononoke. That had an unbelieveably amount of awsome orchestrated pieces.

    I love it.

    I really liked the soundtrack in Star Wars ( John Williams is the best composer ever!) and I also liked the music in Harry Potter (Another one of John Williams Works). Oh and I liked the music in The Mummy, Gladiator, and A Beautifull Mind.

    I don't know I guess I'll pic Star Wars. Yeah it was and still is the BeSt!

    The Hellsing soundtrack is great, but for a movie, probably Stars Wars.

    "The Piano" and "The Hours" are literally orchestrated and are both EXCELLENT. ^_^ So much so that both composers are officially on my list of mentors. ^_^;

    [edit]
    Also, "The Lord of the Rings" was mind-numbingly cool. ^_^ Strong presence of theme. (Um... I think that's what they'd say... Point is it's cool. ^^)
