Anime best robot anime?

well.... the eternal struggle betweenst man and machine is continual. then there is man partnered with machine, or half man half machine, or....well, machine vs. machine. so... a questione should be asked, and hopefully this is the first time...


whats your favorite robot based anime?

i think mines battle angel alita. goos plot, and alot of violence~

 

Robotech and Macross. That is all.

My favourite robo/biorobo(?) animes are Evangelion, Rahxephon, Macross, and Nadesico.

 

The general look of gundams... classy looking heads with antenna like features, big feet, humanoid form, huge weapons and armaments initially was the reason why I loved watching them. Though I'm limited to only have watched the 2 (or 2 plus the one airing - G Seed Destiny) in the Gundam saga, I was easily impressed with the mecha action, they do pull off fights quite spectacularly in my opinion. However, I admit that Gundams are now rather unorignal and use recycled plots... it's the fighting and the new mecha models which essentially keeps me interested in it.

So best mecha? Gundam... and to be specific SEED.

I like Evangelion\Gundam, haven't really seen those mazinger\mazinkaiser\shin-getter anime(s).

Gundam wing, Gasaraki, Armitage, ghost in the shell, And Bubblgum chrisis 2040 (the only one i've seen.) note i'm basing me decisions on the robot designs, if it were based on theseries overall theyred be more.

 

i say all the Saber Marionette series. they definately take the gold in my book ^_^

 

But does SMJ count as a robot anime? I mean, yeah, Lime, Cherry, and Bloodberry are marionettes, that is, androids, but, does that make it count as a robot anime?

If so, then it's the same for me. But, I don't think it is. I think the author of this thread was thinking more along the lines of the giant gundam or eva type robots, rather than androids.

In which case, I'd have to say Neon Genesis Evangelion, even though I've only seen episodes 1-5.

 

i think SMJ should count seeing as they ARE robots and if the author of this thread was thinking along the lines of of gundam type animes, then it should have been specified. and since ghost in the shell and battle angel alita were brought up, SMJ should definately count aswell ^_^

 

After I actually *looked* at the first post of this thread, I realized that Saber Marionette J would, indeed, count.

I think this thread should be split into two paths.

Favorite 'android' anime:

For me, Saber Marionette J takes the former, while Neon Genesis Evangelion takes the latter, with Gundam Wing in a close second.

heh nice yeh id have to agree with the category thing seeing as theyre really so completely different from eachother. id have to say Evangelion for mecha...im not a big fan of gundam...
