Who's the best band whose name starts with the word "the"?

Of course I wouldn't even have to debate it.I would say The Strokes without hesitation, but who cares what I think?I want to know what you think.;)

Now I am going to try to include some of the most popular bands in the poll, but i'll give you an "other" option for you to choose if your favorite isn't up there.

Your own preferences aside, I don't know why The Strokes and The White Stripes are even on that list. Both have only two good songs (Last Night and New York City Cops for The Strokes, Fell In Love With A Girl and Seven Nation Army for The White Stripes).
I had to vote for The Beatles. Their songs ranged from meaningful to cheesy to poppy to ridiculous, often in the space of one album.
Of course, The Ramones, The Clash and Canadian favourite The Guess Who were also in the running.

I chose Mr. Ozzy Osbourne himself. you had a lot of good choices, but I like Ozzy. I also like Rob/White zombie (same band). They kick a$$ as far as i'm concerned. :catgirl:

Uh ... how to put this lightly ... none of those contain the word "The".

Putting The Beatles on there is a bit unfair :) If we were all honest they would get all the votes. I'm just going to pretend they aren't there since they are the winner, and will vote for someone else.

Since for some reason you left off The Pillows, it's The Pixies for me

What about The Who? And The Led Zeppelin(are there any other bands called led zeppelin?
From the list I'd go for The Pixies, for their musical infulence alone.
...Rather vote for The Pink Floyd though...

I'd give The Beatles credit but I never really liked/listened to their music.

For once I have to agree with Novus though; I refuse to acknowledge The White Stripes and The Strokes, as well as The Hive and The Vines.

Of the list... hmm... probably The Pixies, though The Doors are pretty nifty

Not on the list, The Clash is also very-much awesome and The Ramones.

The Beatles are kind of a given, but besides them I'd say The Who.

    The Ataris.

Their current album "So Long, Astoria" and its companion live CD are excellent.

Wait a minute... "The" Led Zeppelin, "The" Pink Floyd. Those aren't there names. Its simply Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.

I voted for The Beatles, just because they were the best on the list.

Also Ozzy Ozbourne isn't "The" Ozzy Ozbourne. :anger2: I don't know what you were thinking there.

The Pixies. I would have voted for The Smashing Pumpkins if they were on there but the Pixies are just as good.

Oh, he knows that. But, he just likes them more than other bands(at least,t hats what I assume).

Also, The Beatles are just below the Who in my book.

You know,I thought the exact same thing.I was about to vote for them myself, but when it comes down to it,I just like The Strokes more.:)I was thinking about replacing them with someone like the Who,The Smashing Pumpkins, etc. But I tried to be fair to all the Beatles fans(practically everyone in existance).

After I made this thread,I kicked myself for not thinking of The Pillows.:(

The Vines are obviously a sub-par band, but in all fairness, they are popular to some extent. You have to include the good with the bad. However,I think that The Strokes and The White Stripes are superb rock bands that deserve more attention than they recieve.A lot of others would agree with me,but apparently a few of you do not.:(Oh well,at least it's acknowledged that "New York City Cops" is a kick-*** song.:p

Seriously All the bands you listed blue crow are great. ur spiffirific.
Yet i have to choose the beatles on these basises:
    1. They are awesome
    2. Harrison is god
    3. Starr is god
    4. McCartney is god
    5. Lennon is god.
    6. Without them we would not even have most of the bands in the world today. They really shaped our culture. Thats why beatlemania is sooooo popular even today.

Starr sucked, and the Beatles knew it :/

To quote one of the movies "John, do you think Ringo's the best drummer in the world?"

"I don't think he's the best drummer in the Beatles!"

It has to be The The for the prize though.

    Raven, you're a moron :p

Thats right The Pillows start with "the" and any ways there the best Jband I've heard of. They could be hard as hell, soft, and goffy at any point.Thats why I think their the best, and I don't like is that you can't much info on them. I've been to their sit but I CAN'T READ JAPANESS :glazed: (sigh). Oh well.

    1. I think the vines happen to be very good. They have good lyrics, good voices. and well just- good overall.

    2. I think the strokes are very undermined (dont know if thats correct terms) but they happen to be (as quoting Rolling Stone) the new kings of rock. Along with that people seem to not really give them credit, since they are pretty bizzare and there are only 2 of them.

    'k thats all
