What Tokyopop are doing to Initial D is retarded, I'm never going to touch another of their products if they go ahead with these plans.

How can they call their Manga line "100% Authentic Manga" when they make such drastic changes to it.
The 1st volume of the Initial D manga was quite poor even before these name changes, it was clear that they had Americanised the phrases which all of the characters used.

These changes are obviously going to be included in the DVD release of the Initial D TV series.
This is due to the fact that Tokyopop want to get the series on TV and make as much money out of it as possible.

Speculation suggests that the music will also be changed, any fan of the Initial D will tell you how badly this will effect the series.
The killer Eurobeat soundtrack combined brilliantly with the race scenes and created an immense amount of atmosphere, changing this could entirely ruin the brilliant flow which the series has.
