Title: Birds of Prey

Airtime: Wenesdays 9:00 PM Eastern on the WB starting Oct 9

Background: The Batman, with the help of Batgirl, finally caught up with the Joker. As the fight progressed, Batman had the chance to kill the Joker once and for all, but did not. Instead he handed him over to the GCPD. Joker soon escaped from the police and was free long enough to hire a man to kill Selena Kyle (former Catwoman and former lover of Bruce Wayne) and shoot Barbara Gordon, who he had descovered to be the Batgirl. Batman realized that his decision not to kill Joker resulted in the death of his former lover and protogee Barbara and lost it. Bruce left Gotham and the Batman went into retirement.

Bruce aparently had a daughter with Selena. They had a falling out and Selena raised the girl on her own. Now that Selena was dead, Bruce thought that he should take care of the girl but she hated him and wanted nothing to do with the father who had never been there. Barbara Gordon, now Oracle, became the legal gaurdian of Helena Kyle and trained her to be the Huntress and fight crime, prowling the streets of Gotham with the skills she inherited from her mother following the mission she inherited from her father.

Pilot Teaser: A string of suicides in Gotham baffle the GCPD and Oracle suspects something sinister at work. With the help of a young runnway the Huntress must stop these suicides before she becomes the next victim.

Comments: This show is fantastic! Has anyone else seen the pilot? I think it has the potential to be a great addition to the Batman legacy.

 

I saw it, and I don't really like that many later Batman things (last two Batman flicks, Batman Beyond), though I saw only bits and pieces, yet most of it, and strangely enough I'm really interested in seeing more of it. So, Hell, I'll watch more. ^^
