Humour Bizarre teaching methods (or why i'm gonna fail my exams)

Among other things I'm in a biology class, however my teacher is slightly eccentric. The following is a song to help remember about hormonal control during pregnancy

(to the tune of the welsh national anthem)

Now chorinic gonadotrophin
That comes from baby that's lying within
And it's function isn't fun

So uterus is thick and yum!!

Releases four hormones, I know
Oestrogen, progesterone says to others you must go
FS and lutenising hormone

Anterior pituatary gland in the brain
Releases prolactin so milk flows like rain
And it flows fast from the ducts
Of the mothers full bust
Once PRH comes from hypothalamus

Oxy-tocin, comes from the same part of brain
And it causes the contractions
Of milk and the womb
So baby shoots into delivery room

Anyway, as far as songs in school go... last year this one teacher couldn't explain a concept for her life. Then my friend Jason redid the entire lesson in a freestyle rap. I don't even like rap and I understood! If I can I'll get him to email me some...

maybe I should put up scans of my biology teachers "mindmaps", of course it'd take a few pages to explain their bizarity (bizarity is my new favourite word)

 

what is it with biology teachers?!? mine has folders full of such songs...

 

& i thought my maths teacher was strange with that lil song of his;

now that i think about it... i was taught that song for circumferences & radius's 6 years ago... so i may have knackered the lyrics up slightly

 

Lol, yes, I came from the same school as manga monkey. Our teachers are insane. ^_^. I diddnt get any weird songs sung by them tho :sad: .

Hmm . . . all biology teachers must have a special group or clan, cause my bio teacher had songs and weird activities too . . . she made us use chocolate and throw them across the room at eachother then made us run around the room to speacial stations to show us how the mucsle cells, fibers, and stuff works when your using them. . . this was in high school too . . .

 

I think biology teachers are all brainwashed and taught to do all these wierd things. My teacher doesn't even come to class anymore. a Student Teacher is teaching us now.

Though, my teacher never did sing anything... he just played Tecno for the Bahamas! We all know the songs by heart now....

it's not just bio teachers my ex physics teacher is now quiting her job to tell other schools how to increase productivity (she's going to tell them to use mindmaps) Speaking of which take a look at this

Gosh, and I'm taking my first year of biology next year *gulps*. All these posts are starting to make me slightly wary...

Anyhow, I had a teacher in sixth grade that was attempting to teach us the structure of the human body *bones 'n all that*. Basically she had us stand up and perform the most idiotic song that involved us pointing to all different parts of our bodies and trying to rap them (apparently she was trying to be "hip") and concluding with us suddenly turning cheerleader and chanting P-H-A-L-A-N-G-E-S Phalanges ARE BEST!!!

anyways my best friend had a bio teacher that whenever he was supposed to say sex, he'd scream out whoop-eee! and he constantly talked about his sex life in the middle of class, and to explain sex, he brought in an eclair and a donut, but unfortunately he couldn't fit the eclair in, and it ended up spilling all the custard from the eclair all out.... It was... v. interesting.
