In most fight scenes, the Red Lion holds the sword. I wonder if there is a reason the animators chose the Red Lion to be the one that almost always held the sword.

Once in a while, however, the Green Lion comes up with the sword, which leads me to believe that whatever makes the sword form doesn't automatically send it to the Red Lion. I wonder if Keith can program it when he makes the command.

One interesting scene had the Green Lion holding the sword, and for no apparent reason, while just standing there, Voltron switched it to the Red Lion in a very swift motion.

    Either he's right handed/left handed/or ambidextrous ???
Maybe he simply tries to throw his enemies off guard ?
    That's a good question.

Maybe the Red Lion was used because Lance was stronger then Pidge and he could control the swords impact better.

Now you're diving into dangerous territory, i.e., how each person is connected to his lion, and how that reflects in the performance of the lion!

Being that the lions are robots would the operators stregth really have that much impact on the lions strength or control ?
By that would their speed also impact the lions speed?

Hmmm.....Since they tease Hunk's 'low I.Q.' would that make the Yellow lion stupid ?

PLEASE don't get mad. I love Voltron. Just theoretical questions...

    i'm not mad.

I think the Lions are somehow linked to their pilots.

Each one having a different strength than the other.

Lance being the swashbuckler that he is, makes sense for him to be the bearer of the Sword.

Hunk may be teased for a low IQ, but he is also one of the strongest in the group---hence his Lion's performance in battle.

By the way, I like what I have read so far on your Voltron/G-Force crossover. Can't wait to see the rest.

    Hi guys.

Thanks for the comments on my cross-over. I hope to work on it some more this weekend.

After careful thought ;and reviewing the 3-D Voltron,in an episode Princess Alura does say that the lions spirits are connected to their pilots. So yeah, I could say Lance's strength would make his lion stronger. Pidge's would probably be faster.

    Talk to ya later :)

Is Voltron 3D considered part of Voltron canon, or it's own separate storyline?

It's a separate storyline that takes place after the defeat of Zarkon. After which Zarkon becomes a reformed peace diplomat for galaxy garrison (yeah right). Lotor is injured and now has a half-metal face and upper body. Lotor escapes from Bastille 12 (prison) and joins back up with Hagar to claim control of the forces of doom. Doom castle zips back and forth from Voltron's realm and Hagar's nightmarish realm.
It's a really cool show! You can get the videos from your local public library. (at least I can from mine) Naturally I recorded them. My cross-over story takes place during the 3-D time table after Zarkon's 'reform' .
