A new anime has come. I have watched the first episode and I like it a lot. It is related to Blood: the last vampire.

The story: Throughout the passage of time and the shifts in backgrounds, a particular war continues to leave its mark on history, extending its influence into the modern world. There are two major groups involved in the ensuring war. The first group consists of monsters known as Chiropterans who can change their appearances into that of human beings. They are actually immortals who feed on the blood of the living. The second group is an organisation known as the "Red Shield", formed to track down these monsters and exterminate them. Otonashi Saya is a high-school girl who lives a peaceful life with her family. The only problem is, she has no recollections of her life beyond that of the past year. However, her happy life will be destroyed by an event that will lead her to her destined fate. Curtsy of www.animenewsnetwork.com

So far what I have seen it looks to be really good. There are plenty of questions after the first episode.

Saya seams like a normal girl. Her adopted father gets money from some group every month to look after her. I am leaning towards the Red Shield here. It appears that he no longer wants the money. He cares for Saya and thinks of her as his own daughter at least I think so. Saya is also being watched by the same group. She mets this musician who also has special powers. He awakens her power and wants her to fight a Chiropteran that appears at her school. Episode end. :(

Like I said so far it looks good plenty of questions unanswered. But having watched Blood: the Last Vampire you kind of know a few things.

    So who has watched it?

I thought it was really good so far, good animation and details.. and true gore! Sure, some people would be shocked to see that girl stabbing through a woman and her child at the start of the show, but that's reality!
Haven't seen Blood:TLV yet, so I'll just have to watch this. Ain't got much to say about it yet, only the first episode.. Haven't grown acustomed to the characters yet.. But the guy with his coffin was pretty cool :p

It does look like a coffin.

I can't wait either. I saw the second episode Blood+ but it was Black Cat. On animesuki.com. I really need to see it. I guess Black will have to do.

Yet again more questions. :( But it still draws me in.

Saya awakens for a short time and slices the monster in half. I must say it was awesome. Naming that thing Mouse is a little strange. Damn Americans. LOL. Why Mouse of all things? See I first thought werewolf now I am thinking mutated monster, Chiropteran. Why else would americans want it? Could they have created it?

I didn't like when the Red Shield wanted her back. The picture with Saya and our as of episodes unknown coffin holder was a little surprise for me. By that they were together and the way he is around.

I was already thinking Kai like Saya. I didn't know he had a girlfriend. Not much of one eh? By the way he acts around her.

Once again the call and a few other things climatic point. Until the story develops more this probably will happen a lot.

Looks like I didn't watch blood: the last vampire or I did and was so long ago. That shall hold me until the next episode. How many days is it? 5? :'(

Hmm that name Hans Zimmer sounds familiar what else did he do?

i'm really dissapointed with the character designs for the series. saya in the OVA was a really interesting design with the lips and the details/wrinkles between the eyes. she had a really nice dark brooding thing happening. It really added to the atmosphere. then i look at the tv series, and it's the blandest generic looking school girl. she looks like a extra from a ghibli film. she just doesn't have any 'presence' anymore. (to be a cromatarian). :(

Basher you should google Hans Zimmer then you will be like "!!!!!!!!!"

hmm I'm a bit like Tanuki, maybe if she has the red glowing eyes and her hair grows a bit when awakened and she gets that evil looking face and a few wrinkles of evil going on.. then well.. haha she'd really stand out in a crowd!

I want Kai to go train and level up a few .. is that just me who feels that way?

I did and I was like ahhh.

Totally. She will probably have blood on her a lot. At least when her eyes are not red she looks like a normal school girl. Isn't that what she was supposed to be while she remembered who she was?

Yes, if he wants to compete or help her. You know scary chicks get all the men. But they could have this whole brother and sister thing going on. Ah who knows?

Multi-purpose coffin/cello case with weapons? Am I the only one getting flashbacks of GunGrave and El Mariachi/Desperado/Once Upon A Time In Mexico?! :p

Anyways, I just watched the first episode of this and I was wary after hearing about it at first because, frankly, I thought the movie and the manga were utterly horrible, but I'm very intrigued. Unfortunately since no one seeds the torrents anymore, it's taking me forever to get episodes. :\ Probably won't have episode 2 until late tomorrow.

I thought The movie was horrible. It didn't explain anything, just gave you an hour and a half of blood and guts. Vampire movies are my favorite saturday night time wasters but c'mon! Why her?
*sighs* I'm not planning on bothering with the show..My time can be better spent staring at my monitor or playing DDR. Both make me feel so nerdy, just to let you know.

You know, I have to agree; the Blood movie was one of the most despicable things I have ever seen; the good animation made up, in NO way, for the lack of the plot and no likeable characters... And the manga was even worse...

However I am now on episode 6 of the series and admittedly it's really not THAT far into the series, but I can tell you this much, it is a DEFINITE improvement over both the movie and manga. I have already taken a liking to pretty much every character in the series (namely Haji :p) and it definitely looks like they are setting up a plot.

I can't really MAKE you watch it, but I'll at least recommend it to you. But eh... :p

Heh, not my pot 'o joe I'm afraid.
I'll stick with my traditional SciFi marathons with b-rated vampire films that can be enjoyed. ^.^
