I have now watched up though layer 11: infornography. I must say everything has kind of made sense in a kind of bizarre way... until layer 09. Talking about Roswell was okay, and MJ-12. And the inferrence that Alien technology fueled the eventual development of Protocol 7, but then they showed the Gray... and I stood up and yelled a collective, "W T F ?" for everyone who has ever watched Evangelion or lain or whatever.

Generally a good show, and I don't have any real problems with lain at all. It's a pretty cool series. It will definitely take its place in my top 3 anime experiences along with Eva and Cowboy Bebop.

I kinda second that. Still don't know how the Gray is tied into everything. There was that scene a little earlier when the Gray showed up but it was Lain... I've still got a big WTF about a lot of stuff in Lain. But yeah, up there fighting Eva for Number 1 with me, too. At least before Princess Nine and Cardcaptor Sakura started messing with me in a non-WTF kind of way...

Well, I just finished watching 12 and 13 this morning.

And I guess everything makes sense in a strange sort of way. But, the way that it makes sense for me is going to be different from everyone else. I liked the series because they just threw a bunch of information (rumor and fact) and let you, the viewer, make the connections on your own.

I also kind of wonder if Lain didn't find the information regarding the MJ-12 docs and created the memory... the same way she deleted other memories. Lain is Lain... but Lain is a child, also, and has a child's imagination and open-mindedness. Anyway, my brain is hurting from thinking about it, and I'm at work. Never a good combo. I better go... the Wired are calling...

Well, at least the ending makes sense. For a series for which the main body of the work is so twisted, the ending is very straightforward and understandable.

...i really need to sit through that again...i remeber most of it...yeah, it was a wtf? experience in my club too...but most makes sense and almost all of it ties together in some relavent way. it's just finding the connection....(note, the school teacher in the last ep, if you have it in english, that's david lucas(spike) talking! weeeeeeeeeee)

It is a cool series (if slightly headach inducing- I watched it all in one sitting :glazed: ) But the ending kinda explains everything a bit too neatly a far as I remember...have to watch it again now.

Mmm, when I had finished watching it, I thought I had a fairly good grasp of what had happened, but the more I think about it, the more confused I seem to get. Quite bizzare really. I probaby need to watch it again.

it's a very cool show, one that i love very much. but the moment you try to make logical sense out of anything, your head begins to hurt. there are things that i understand & things that i don't; that which i do understand i can't explain to anyone else.

    anyone with me?

hey, is anyone with me that lain's father and the delivery guy were the best people in the series? (I know her dad is a bit freaky but, even so, his theories and stuff, he's just so awesome!) so who's with me!! (i'm guessing no one, but don't rub it in at least!) haeha.

Dunno, I think her dad seemed a lot cooler later in the series than in the first episode, enough to finally endear him a little to me, but I'm not with you on the delivery guy at all. He's kinda cheesy, tryin' to pick up on middle-aged housewives. Doesn't fly with me. Even Juri (Julie?) was cooler. I still hold with Arisu, JJ, and Lain in some of her less hopeless moments as being my favorite characters.

Alice (read: "Arisu") is cool. Lain is cool...especially that one little blurb in the intro when she looks like she's signing. Dad is cool. Although...I haven't watched this in so long that it's pretty much all I remember.

    Oh yeah...Lain's computer...COOL. SUPER-MEGA-COOLANT. *NICE*

Mmmmm.... liquid carbon (If I remember correctly).

I watched all of Lain, took it ep. by ep. and understood it (unlike Chow, who watched it all in one sitting, and whose brain melted)...
