Okay, this box set (the "Perfect Collection") is due out on the 13th of August, and I got mine just today. (Thank God for preorders!) Has anyone else watched this? Or what about the original?

I have both and I gotta say that I love the series and especially the music. Well, it'd be cool to know what everybody else thinks about this. I've already watched both of it, and I'm just dying to know.

And yes, a lot of the first series is made just for fanservice. Like Priss's and the Sexadolls ambiguous relationship...but the fights and such were still awesome! Plus the fact that it's old school! 80's "cyberpunk" rock in Japanese, like the famous "Konya wa Hurricane".

    So yeah, input?

Voomers/Boomers (or whatever your called), BEWARE!

I thought both Bubblegum Crisis and its 2040 remake were excellent, but my vote still goes to the original series. The 2040 characters felt so cold and edgy, i really missed the camaraderie of the original Knight Sabers. And the new Sylia is just mental! Although a major highlight for 2040 is the presence of an overall story arc - the storyline for the original series never really went anywhere.

Did anyone ever see Bubblegum Crash? Man, that was one helluva disappointment.

I saw a couple of episodes of BGC:tokyo 2040, it was interesting! I though Maki and Nene where a cute couple. I don't know what really happens next though.. I never seen the original series because I was discouraged...:shy3:

Okay you got me, probably cuz tokyo 2040 art is more acceptable to me than the original one. hehe  sorry. Since you guys say the original is good, I might as well try to see it :)

I have seen most of the original series.. the funny thing is it took the so long to make the serries you can actualy notice the advances in the anime style. the art gets better with each ep..

not a bad series.. now for the new one.. which is just prety much a remake I think.. i only seen a the first couple ones.. not to bad..

Yo Tooms, which part of the series? The original or 2040. The original was SUPPOSED to be in 13 parts and tied up all the loose ends...but AIC and Toshiba (is it them, or someone else?) had a little spat and ended up finishing after the eighth. Then they had the craptastic "sequel" which was called Bubblegum Crash...though I'd rather not even talk abou that....:sweat2:

Well, I'm on disc five and definitely enjoying it, but I'm gonna slow down my viewing because of a project due Friday (that, and I'm going to watch the ep of Alias I taped with my mother tomorrow, I'm hoping).

    SPOILER
I thought it was creepy when, at the end of "We Built This City", Galatea looks up and says something about playing. ::^^::
    END SPOILER

But I'm definitely loving it! *hugs Izzy-san!* Thanks for suggesting it. ^^

Phox, if I wasn't already in love with you...;)

Yeah, the ending's wierd...but once ya think a little, I think it makes sense. Plus the last Priss Vocal is soooooo awesome in English.

[Izzy, watching it dubbed 2198397-0932-32-4osdjf892374329 times because he likes Nene's voice...:sweat2:]

I love these series. I have watched some of the original old episodes of Bubblegum Crisis. I just have to love all the animations and story. Music was also great. This story like others has a bit twist to it making it fun and exciting to watch.

Tokyo 2040 is 26 episodes long...since it's a TV aired series. And most anime TV series end up with somewhere near that number.

The original is 8 "episodes" long...however, some of them reach up to almost an hour. The last one, I believe, is 45 minutes.
