I think it is his tail becaus ewhen he transforms it still the same way

You can't actually see whether it is or not, Zero. It disappears under his armor in the back.

I personally believe it's a combination of a fur ruff and tail, since it corresponds with a fur ruff and his tail when he's in dog-form. This also seems to be the general consensus when the discussion comes up. In his human-like form, it comes from somewhere under the armor/at the waist over his shoulder, then dangles down behind.

 

ok yeah i OVER egxaderated about noe being attached to his butt, but i still belive is not a tail i think is a fur cloak... ya know there is a small chance that could be his fathers fur.
but now im thinking *i know im thinking* about when he turns into a dog like his father he does have that tail

 

I think it's his tail. Most people say it is and I also agree. It seems a bit long but I don't think Sesshoumaru is the type to wear furs like someone rich. Sure, he's elegant and refined and all that, but still...

Yeah I also wanted to ask about that too...LOL... I think that I'm pretty much going to agree that it is indeed a tail. I mean why would he be holding on to his father's fur?? Didin't it seam like he really had no compashion for his father? I donno......it just seems like to me he really didn't have any respect for him when he was alive or now that he's dead.

Which episode? And yes, there's a dangling end. The other end always disappears under his armor, and it's always with him no matter what happens to anything else on him (his armor gets blown away but he still has the fluff).

As for it being long, I think it's a combination fur-ruff and tail, since in his full-demon form (the doggie form), it corresponds with a fur ruff that goes across his chest, over his shoulder, down his back, and into his tail.

Well if it weren't a tail then I dunno how he'd be able to wrap InuYasha up in it and fling him around like he did in ep 6 or 7. I think tail is a good answer. In the ep when he gets Tetsusaiga from InuYasha (the second one i think) it shows an X-rayish view through his shirt, I vaguely remember seeing his tail thing , but I may be wrong, i don't have the episode on tape anymore, so i can't double check. I think that'd itch.
