Eirtaku Calling all Tekken players

I'm guessing that there must be one or two Tekken players out there.

I'm attempting to unite all the Tekken players that I can find with a view to getting Namco/Sony to sponsor a Tekken tournament in Ireland. Almost every other country in the world has a properly organised tournament.

So for now, I'm looking for numbers.

I'm not a fan myself but good luck setting it all up

 

hmm... Loved Tekken 3, hated Tekken Tag, love Tekken 4...

Averagely crap at all of them...

i think i played tekken once or twice... i remember nicholas D kicking the **** out of me and kenshin at it.. so I doubt i'd be any good at a league

 

I wish there were more Manga Tekkens. The story develops quite well through the series, I think.

As for 2D fighters like Street Fighter.... It will always have a place in my heart Yea, Ryu would possibly kick Jins ***. But that kinda like one of those 'Death Star' v's 'The Enterprise' type questions.

That was Virtua Fighter 4 I was kicking your *** at, Mordeth. Just so you know.

I did lose a fair few times, though more against Kenshin. Damn Lei Fei and his kicky punchy ways.

 

I haven't played Tekken since version 3 on the Playstation one. Tekken tag looked awful but i might give T4 a go soon.

Anyone ever watch Tekken the Movie (released by ADV Films). Yikes... :sad:

 

Just a quick question about Tekken 4.


Which character/s are best in this game?


I like playing as Jin, I think his new fighting style is cool, only thing is it seems to be very limited when compared to other chars.

 

Jin seems a little limited because of his new style. Seems to not have that aggressive touch that he used to have. But he does, believe me. Most of his attacks are much faster then ever before. His combos are easier to do. But most of all... he looks COOL!

Jin doesn't have reversals anymore, but instead he has a little deflection (which works the same as reversals). So if somebody kicks him, he can deflect the kick to the side and then beat the living daylights outta them without giving them a chance to block.

My current 2 favs in Tekken 4 are Hwoarang and Steve.

Hwoarang was always cool, but now he's even cooler. Some of his amazing moves have been toned down a little, so it looks like they are doable in real life. He's been given some extra moves too... all of them run into each other, so he's very smooth to play. Problem is, you get carried away with doing cool moves, so he's not as effective as other characters.
As for Steve... well he's just so origional, he's nothing but fun to play. When you press kick, he doesn't kick, cos hes a boxer. So he dodges to the side. It can be quite hard to actually land a punch on somebody who knows how to play Steve. Very fast punches. Way better then any of the Boxers in other fighting games that I've seen (Was it Balrog in Street Fighter... and what was the name of the guy in Killer Instinct?)

Balrog was the name of the boxer character in SF and "TJ Combo" (ack) was the boxer in Killer instinct. Both were pretty useless from what i can remember...

 

Aren't gamesworld doing a "King Of IRON FIST" Tekken Tourney?

 

Nothing beat the Kangaroo hope With Yoshimitsu or the pogo stick!.. Frankly he is my fav..
