Ranma got his curse while on a training trip with his father. Said training trip is, in actuality, a ten year journey in which Ranma is trained in various techniques. His father, Genma, is an idiot and would try and teach and train Ranma in the most ludicrous of ways.

In any case, the last stop of the trip was a place called Jusenkyo, in China. Well, Genma didn't think much of it (neither did Ranma for that matter) and they sparred above the pools, in midair while jumping from bamboo pole to pole. Ranma gets a lucky kick in, and Genma goes flying into a pool. Out comes Panda-chan. Ranma is so surprised, that he gets tagged by the martial-panda-artist. Ranma comes up, and he finds he has breasts. He screams.

And that, is how he got his curse. Shampoo got it as punishment from the Nieuchiezu (her Amazon tribe) for not bringing back Ranma's girl form's head, or the male's hand in marriage. Mousse, I believe, stumbled in, or got a curse because he wanted to be closer to Shampoo. Ryouga...well, Ranma accidentally knocked him in when he was chasing the panda through the forest.
