Computers Canon scanner driver install problem

    Scanner driver problem/ do ridiculous things also happen to you?

    well, this was originally a help thread.. I don't know if this has been posted here before, BUT! has your computer done anything weird and it took you a while to figure it out?

    original problem:
    Okay! So this is my third or fourth time installing drivers onto my computer for my Canon scanner FB 63OUi. It's been a hassle ever since I went to xp to get the drivers. anyways I go here for the drivers, like I believe I did the last time.     This time, I install the stuff, but then realize its not working. so. duh, the scanner had been plugged in through usb in the back of my tower for a few months. And I hadn't installed the drivers yet. so. I unplugged it. Then, I plugged it back in.. right when I plug it back in, my mouse freezes. I unplug the scanner's usb, the mouse comes back. I tired again, same thing. After the third time, when the unplugged the scanner's usb cable, the mouse was still frozen. I restarted. Still frozen. I went to safe mode and the mouse worked there so I system restored to tuesday. I come back on, I plug my scanner back in, the mouse disappears. Before too, I tried the mouse on my tablet, it didnt work either. WTH is the connection??? can't I ever get this bloody scanner working again and did I damage something?

    well... sometimes my computer acts like a retard. but then again. it may just very well be me. can anyone help me out?

    EDIT: I got it working! I unplugged the usb, took all the cable off, flipped the scanner sideways, locked it then unlocked it, then plugged the usb cable back in the tower. The mouse didn't freeze this time, and I was able to install the drivers properly and now my scanner works! ^^'..


    the end. ^^' just wanted to share my pain and my joy. anyways. anyone else have retarded things like this happen to their computers?

    Yes. I feel your pain. Sadly my computer gets worse everyday for no explained reason. Well, atleast i cant explain it. My computer hasnt crashed completly yet. I perform system restore prolly once a week. ><

    There were some most recent issues that took me forever to figure out (I dont even feel like explaining them. It brings back the frustration. ><;; ). With the help of many boards.jp members. . . >< They helped me rid my computer of many errors. I had all sorts of windows file corrupted or something. . .virus hoodanany who knows what caused it. Those issues are gone.

    Now i have little problems to take care of, hopefully i can fix them. . otherwise back to the forums. . . :anime: not really a happy ending for me, i guess. *shrugs* ^^;
