    Teen Titans in or out?

I know Teen Titans isn't really Anime, but it's based off of it and it sure is funny as heck. I was wondering if you consider Teen Titans a good thing or a bad thing, like is it a good show based off of anime? Me, I think its a cute show, great drawing and a good story line. So I don't mind if it's not pure Anime, I find it to be the best thing they made thats based off of anime! well let me know, I'm pretty sure a thread wasn't started like this, I checked :p (I'm sorry if a thread like this was already made, but I did check so at least I didnt make one with-out checking at all  )

You think so? The one episode I watched - wanted to see what the heck the fuss was about - was boring, pointless, completely self-contained (usually something I consider a bad thing, since I prefer a series with a storyline that can't be broken up). The jokes and attempts at humor were awful.

I think it's a bad thing. I don't like the way that American cartoonists and animators are starting to use an anime-like style just because it's popular. I think the Teen Titans series could have been handled much better without the unnecessary attempt to make it resemble Japanese animation. What gets me is the way they even tried to use the expressions - the blush lines, the ^_^ face, the blue lines of doom and gloom, etc. when it was clear that the people making the series didn't know the proper contexts in which those expressions should be used - it felt really strained and came off looking overdone and stupid.

As far as "Is Teen Titans good imitation anime?" - the answer is no. It doesn't feel like anime. It kinda looks like it, but it fails in capturing the flavor. I think the main problem is that the creators probably don't know much about anime - so then, how would they be able to effectively create it? Let's not forgot that everything we create comes from who we are - which is a big reason that Americans usually do a horrible job of imitating anime, unless they're experienced fans. There are SO many cultural elements to things like TV shows that we just take for granted... So naturally, unless you know a good deal about Japanese culture, you can't apply that necessary Japanese flavor to a series no matter how much the characters resemble those in anime.

I can't say much of the storyline, since I've only seen one episode. But the character design and animation weren't terribly attractive, in my opinion. Not as good as the first season of Pokemon, even, and Pokemon is certainly not the pinnacle of Japanese animation.

I made a thread about teen titans before but it was closed I believe because it was under the wrong topic. but I wanted to know if anyone liked teen titans? what are things about the show you like/dislike and if you do like it who is your favorite character? I'm not comparing it to anime/manga itself, just as a cartoon.

my favorite character order goes as follows:
    1)starfire
    2)robin
    3)raven/terra
    4)cyborg
    5)beastboy

I do like them all a lot and they all run close to eachother.

    My favorites list:

    1.) Raven
    2.) Starfire
    3.) Terra
    4.) Robin
    5.) Beastboy
    6.) Cyborg

What I like: None of the heroes are annoying-which is quite rare for me, lol. The show is great. It has lots of action, has the anime style, and it has good writing and character developement.

What I dislike: Some of the episodes can be a little boring, as well as some of the villains. Plus, the Larry episode was a little too much.

I have to kinda agree with Dilandau. Although for a while at the start did kinda like it, but the story lines became really boring. The wannabe anime style was ok for a little while but it just got a irritating after a while. And all the enemies were the same and some of them (mostly that sixties English guy) were just made me turn it off and go read a book.
I didn't know that Teen Titans belonged to Cartoon Network, i've mostly only seen them on Toonami.
