I was woundeing about the implants the team had. in the comic they say there bones where replaced so they could fly. had extrordinary strength and speed.

How the hell did they survive that prosess? in Jason(Joe's) case later becoming a cyborg did we see his operation? Dr raphiel must have tinkered around a bit and must have chopped up some of him.

I know we got too see a flash back for 2 frames in issue 3 0r 4 of Mark's op hearing a doctor moan about using the tech on an orphan.

So in short what happened too the team durring these operations and what effects did they have on the team?

Didn't they all get cancer or something at the end of GF?

This is a really vague area.

The Gatchaman team didn't have cerebionic implants, they did what they did with skill alone.

In BOTP the tv series, the cerebionic implants were responsible for the team's extra speed and strength, but there were never any details of what the implants were or how they managed to do what they did.

In the comic Jason says they had their bones enhanced, there's quite a few possibilities on the type of enhancement that could have been made, such as making them lighter like birds' bones, or more dense or adding inorganic material for strength.

When Joe became a cyborg in Gatch 2, he was transformed in 2 stages. The first stage was before he rejoined the rest of the team, the second after a raid on Rafael's island. I don't know what was done at each stage but afterwards it seems that his skin and most of his bones were artificial. And he had that bomb in him of course.

At the end of Gatch F, Ken became ill because of the hypershoot weapon he was forced to wield by the uninspired writers, but the rest of the team seemed ok up to the end where they may or may not have all died.

Plus, of course, in the Battle of the Planets universe, Jason never becomes a cyborg. :)

Wow, this a very interesting thread! :D
