Art Character Designs

OI! This is a very important topic! Just how do you M2A ppl design your original Characters? CLothing? Names? Personality? BIrthdate, zodiac sign etc etc. etc :dizzy2:

 

Oh for any character personalities and characteristics just use the first things that come to mind those are usually the best and the ones that come from the soul! In stories I usually model the characters after myself a bit, or other anime characters...

I usually just draw my charas out before I give them in identity. Music usually inspires me when it comes to personality... depends on my mood.

 

I get inspired by other peoples art!!! And gain experience points XD!!! through that I can get good idea's of the clothings. . .

the style (eyes, mouth, nouse, and etc, etc, etc) depends on the best artists I like or choosed! to create a new style.. blending both artists works that I've choosen!

umm... the hair Style.. hmm... The best hari style I can create to match the eyes and the face Structure!:dizzy2:

Name?? Still didn't master that part!!! I can't name my characters... Ahhhh!! I got a good name I'll call 'em anonymous! ...

Birthdate is all up to the zodiac sign of the character! which the character should give the viewer a clue about the zodiac sign... like holding a bow or hugging a cute lion!! that shoould explain it!

I'm one of those guys who invents characters in my head, but never draws them! And the people that I do draw, aren't characters with personalities! Vwahaha! But times change, and yeah, there are a few drawings that I've done that are now characters for a story I've been working on for over two years. So I guess in my case, I "make" a character first based on what he/she looks like, then I just make up lil details, like what their hobbies are, etc. Finally, I try to be logical, which is important in making a character seem "believable." But I haven't done it much.

 

I have to agree with hellmaster on the music part, that really helps me. Sometimes I usually draw whatever comes to mind, or sometimes model them after other people a bit (real and fake).

 

Sometimes i think about parts of certain charactes that i like. Something like the eye's or their clothes. Then i try them on a character to see what it looks like.
It dosn't always work so i move things around and see what it looks like here and there. Sometimes i just have to remove the whole parts of the design in order to make the characer look good.
Of course i don't always take things from other characters. Most of the time i come up with the designs in my own head. Its more fun that way. I usually only use the other technecif i'm stuck on a character that just dosn't seem to work.

 

My drawing design is influenced by the anime I watched. Then I'll try to adapt it to my own style.

 

I kinda sketch a few character & when I'm satisfied with one, I'll decide its clothes, personality, name. Sometimes, from a sketch, I can think of a story to go with it. But then, I've tried sketching from existing story & character. But tht will be harder cos I need to really understand tht character to decide the look & costume.
