I know this may sound weird but since there is an art section, would it not be a good idea to be able to post up some musical creations from some of the users. I mean like some midis and stuff. If anyone else is interested in this idea, give me a shout! Comments people?

Here is an example of my work, it is not finished remember and co-composed with a friend, he wrote the interesting bit at the end...

I would love to do this, except for one problem: many people here don't write music. :sweat2: I do, personally, and would be glad to post some of my creations (one of them can't be, as it changes speed and midis can't do that), but there wouldn't be enough of a base to create a sub-forum for it.

I'm sure it is possible to increase the speeds of midi's I have done it myself on occasion. But I just wanted to see the feedback this suggestion would get, has anyone listened to the midi I supplied by the way?

Does no one have interest in this idea, i don't want a forum to be devoted to it or anything, just thought it would be a good place for beginner composers such as mysrlf show some work, and discuss ideas like in the art forum but with music. If u do compose speak out...

Meh. I figured I'd go ahead and post a composition "of my own" here. It's actually a remix of another song (cookie to whoever gets it), but it still sounds cool, imo.

Certainly. There are two songs in this .zip file. The one labeled "Sanity2" is called "Looking for Sanity (And Finding None)". It was an early attempt, and I find it repeats way too much for my taste. The other, labeled "VidTheme", is a song I wrote in an attempt to come up with a nice video game theme. It's short, but it's good. It's also happy.

I'm trying to get, in my opinion, my best work into a sound file, but I can't get the durn thing to accept the tempo changes correctly.

Oh, and through this process, I realized that the name of the song I remixed is on the file. :p Sorry, no cookies.

Whoa I really like your latest stuff especially Looking for Sanity! Come on anyone else on this forum got musical creative talent, if so we could really start something here at M2A.

I get what u meant by the repetitiveness of it but, it is really enjoyable to listen to and wouldn't go amiss in an RPG. I guess I should dig something else out for this. To continue... will have to look very hard.

This is a very very short midi, summing to 16 secs but it what I am working on just now. Gonna maybe be some battle theme...

    Mmm... necromancy...

Don't you love resurrecting "dead" threads? :p

Okay, there's one reason I'm doing this - I've gotten my best work in a valid sound file! You can find it here, under the label "The Other Side of the Barrel". Other pieces I've done are also there, in case anyone wants to hear them.

I used to compose music years ago, using a program called Midisoft Recording Session. But then we got a new computer that didn't have it, and I forgot about it. I still have a few of my midi songs, but they're zipped up in a zip file with a password... I can't remember the password for it! But yeah, you could change the tempo of a midi song part way through. I was surprised at all the options with that old program, stuff like transposing and humanizing.

Ooh, years later we got a copy of MTV Music Generator for PC. I made a few songs with that, but they're in mp3 format so they're kinda big.
