I was doing a few concepts for my manga today, and I'd thought I'd post them here. All were scanned in at 720dpi.

The first one here is a concept for the title page to chapter one. It was really just a quick cg job (I am still faaaaaaar from being relatively good at cg'ing). Flat color layers, and 1 shadow layer for each color, but it still took me about 5 hours to complete it. The man in the picture is named Shinshinai, and the eyes behind him belong to the main character Hyakuhei.

This one is a concept for a panel that will be in the second chapter. It features Hyakuhei and Akimono talking. I just really wanted to get a picture done with Akimono and Hyakuhei together (Akimono is a young girl who was killed by the villagers in her town for helping a demon. She was made gatekeeper for the gate that leads to the world of the dead, thats the door behind them). I think I probably clogged it up with to many textures and tones but I kinda like it, I kinda like it a lot, although I'm really interested in cg'ing it so I may do that later.

Strange. I don't know why but this reminds me of my bro's drawings. The small characters in the second pic are pretty cool. The line effect in the first pic wasn't bad. As for cging, I can give you a pointer or two if you are using photoshop. The stickies in the tutorial thread would also help in that regard. :)

Thanks. Yeah, I could defintely use some pointers with cg'ing, I use photoshop 7. I've checked around for some other tutorials, but the only one I found that was half usueful was the polykarbon one, although I haven't checked out the tutorial thread yet either so I'll check that out later, but... if you would be able to give me some pointers, that would be great. Thanks
