Art Contests and Games contest.

This is just an idea, so don't kill me... but i thought maybe there could be a contest kind of thing run in the art forum where once a month or so a topic/style and maybe medium is chosen and everyone who is interested posts up a submission for judging. the judges could be mods if any are interested and the winner from the last contest, as well as a couple of other people who have not entered.
i don't mean for prizes or entry fees or any crap like that. just a bit of solid fun. There seem to be alot of ppl around here who are really good at art but don't seem draw much. maybe this would be a good way to see some good stuff around.

I'm not great at drawing, but it seems like a fun idea anyway.

That would be cool. Lots of other anime-art forum sites have contests too. I'd try to find time to enter, since I feel more in tune with MangaToAnime than the other websites.

I suggest doing a black&white/sketch division and a CG/color division, that way CGers won't dominate those who don't know how to color although they can still draw well.

 

at another forum I held 2 drawing contests and it was pretty with death and fantasy as the themes and it was really popular

I got all the drawing from those who would be in and then I made a poll so you just could vote for the one that you liked best.

This system was pretty good cause then can the whole forum vote instead of just a few selected judges and we also got a lot of different judgements about the pics

 

yeah, i think this is probably a better idea. but there are only 10 places on the poles. so if we got more entries than that we'd have a few problems.... we could just post in our opinions. but then it wouldn't be annonymous. we also would need to work out how to stop ppl voting more than once....

yeah, i was thinking we could do different sections. something like
line art, pencil sketch, hand colour, cg, cg with line art done on computer with mouse (for those who want to put something up but don't have a scanner.
i don't think we should do more than two at a time though. the forum isn't that big

 

Sound like a great idea, It's been a while since the Art/Design forum had a contest. I'll talk to the mods/admin about this

this contest is a great idea, anyways, i think it'll be better if everyone post his/her vote, so we can stop people from voting for themselves n_n

 

We will have judges that would decide who is the winner. Like you said, people tend to cheat by voting for themselves, if it came to polls.
