Neon Genesis Evangelion Could someone clue me in?

I was a bit confused on the whole Yui Ikari thing. So, Eva 01, in the first episodes, protects Shinji form the falling lights and goes berserk to kill the third angel. Her soul is in the Eva, if I'm not mistaken. But isnt Rei just a shell that also houses Yui's spirt? And isn't the reason Eva 00 went crazy that it was mad at Rei nad Gendo because he was paying attention to her(Rei)? Am I making a mistake, or am I missing something?

Yui's soul is in unit 01.

Lilith's soul is in Rei.

Rei has Yui's body.

There is some debate about Unit 00, but a fair few of us think it's Naoko Akagi's (Ritsuko's mother) in Unit 00, which if you're seen that stuff, explains why it trys to attack Rei those times.

You nearly got it right Dredz... sorry to sound like an *** but;

rei's body consists of both lilith & Yui... seeing as Lilith's body is pure white that is how rei is an albino, same with her soul

& as there is no definit proof for any conclusion i'll just add another theory on the soul of unit 00; rei, seeing as her soul is fake, could have been quite easily put in to the eva as well as the shell body... for the soul inside wished to set Rei free as rei wishes to return to nothingness & ultimatly wants to kill Gendo for what he has done to her... also when Rei is attacked by the helix angel (the big white circle) you see inside Rei's mind as she is talking to the angle side of herself, & when Shinji is in unit 00 the impression that tries to intrude into his mind is Rei's.

Or the fact that she is an angel much like Kaoru it could quite possibly be that she is merely controlling the Eva herself much like Kaoru did to Unit 02... but this theory has to many questions :s
