Creative Writing Current Affairs

I got a little bored and decided to write a poem on a few current affairs. Atleast some in the past two months that is as current as I get.

Current Affairs

In a far away country they held an election
To figure out who would be the prime minister
Tony Blair was the selection
To some he was consider a sinister

In another country far away there was a marriage
The couple who were behind the scene for 35 years
Many thought of this event in disparage
Others showed up and gave cheers

Lots of countries beauties gather for this event
Out of many contenders only one will win
Miss Universe 2005 is what she will represent
Natalie Glebova really did grin

In the country in which I live
A sex bomb was considered
In this case only an idiot could contrive
Hopefully for us all, they will reconsider

Another story to tell in my country of grand
A man allowed to keep on touching little boys
They should learn to stay out of Neverland
No one should go not even for all the worlds toys

I think they got better towards the end but hey I tried. I am thinking of writing more because it was fun.

 

The sex bomb is not a current affair. In all articles related to it, the actual consideration (and its almost immeadiate rejection) occured about a decade ago. Its revelation to the public, however, is what's new.

 

Then I really am behind on current affairs in a way. Maybe I should look at cnn website for once.
