She's my semi-chibi character Footsies. I gave her that name cuz it's kinda cute. This is actually from a few years ago, but the coloring was CG-ed last year I think. It's another one of my styles that I experimented with, years ago.

I'm sure someone around here can answer that question a lot better than I can. Generally, characters in chibi style are sort of short, stubby, and kiddie-like, sometimes being simplified compared to the usual way they are drawn. Most comedy anime have lots of scenes where a character suddenly turns into a chibi version of himself/herself in really cute moments, or pathetically emotional ones. But the extreme form of chibi is called SD (Super-Deformed). Kinda self-explanatory, but yeah, a rough example would be when a character's head fills up the screen while the body is really tiny.

I called Footsies semi-chibi cuz she's kinda halfway between chibi and realistically proportioned. I'll post another drawing later of a different character, which I have normal drawings as well as a chibi drawing of.

    Re-Colored!!

I took a better/bigger scan of the drawing and re-CGed it using my more "up-to-date" style of coloring. She's much sharper now, more vivid, retouched many mistakes I had in the original, and has a background now! I'm going to use a slightly different version for a T-shirt (bigger image, smaller signature, and no watermarks). Hopefully it'll sell a few shirts!

omg, you are really good at cg'ing. the background and grass is so realistic!. The whole pic has a bit of a 'fine art' appearence to it, it looks great.

She's so cute! I like the way you made the coloring too! It was a nice style of pastels and softness.

Thank you, but actually the sky, hills, and middle ground (everything except for the grass at her feet) were from photographs my brother and I took, but I made it so they would match the drawing. (At least I didn't steal the photos from someone else!) It was fun though, and the grass at her feet was the most fun. And I added the folds on her dress by layering a random airbrush-image I made.

Yeah, the drawing is sort of pastel-like, but maybe just the background. I'm not too sure about her name though. I tried to put the texture effect on the edges of the letters like how I did in the original CG, but I guess I couldn't figure out the right settings so it looks not so good. I threw in purple airbrushing to make it more colorful and to have something that matched her eyes and shoes.
